Palworld Devs Outline Adding PvP, Raid Bosses, & Server Transfers in Future Roadmap

Palworld's devs have promised PvP, raid bosses, and crossplay in future updates.

Pocketpair, the developers of Palworld have shared details on the future of the game in a roadmap, and it includes fixing some glaring bugs, adding player versus player (PvP) in multiple forms and much more. The roadmap was posted to Twitter/X on Jan. 24.

Detailing their plans for upcoming changes, top of the developer’s list were critical bugs with the game, including entire world rollbacks and soft-locks on loading screens. They also highlighted the fact there were “numerous bugs” they were prioritizing fixing.

But beyond just bug fixes, Pocketpair highlighted some key additions. The ones they plan to add “ASAP” include key configuration improvements, for making controls better, and improvements to Pal AI and pathing. Pal pathing can sometimes be questionable, with Pals taking long routes towards jobs or during base raids and combat.

The Palworld devs also highlighted a lot of future improvements, although didn’t put a time frame on them. These include PvP and the Pal Arena, which will seemingly involve just Pals. This seems to suggest there will be survival open world PvP in multiplayer (think ARK: Survival Evolved style), and a more neutral site for battling just with Pals.

End-game content like Raid Bosses was also hinted at. Dungeons and bosses are already multiplayer, with the ability to have multiple players fight bosses and enter caves at the same time, but this content would likely be more challenging.

There were some other, technical improvements detailed, which included Steam and Xbox crossplay, some tweaks for Xbox performance, server transfer support, improvements to building, and an expanded number of Pals, Bosses, and Technology.

Overall, it’s a huge amount of content planned for the future, so long as Palworld continues to run. The game has faced a huge amount of criticism, although Pocketpair’s CEO has downplayed concerns, and shot back against the allegations of AI generated content and plagiarizing the Pokémon series.
