How to Unlock and Use the Egg Incubator in Palworld

Congratulations to the proud new Pal parents!

Having a synchronized team of Pals in your party and at your base makes an impactful difference toward progression in Palworld. Not every Pal a player obtains will be found roaming the world, however, and requires a bit of motherly love to obtain.

Eggs of different Pal-typings are found in nests throughout the world. The Pal that will hatch from the egg is random, but the list of possible Pals that can emerge is narrowed down to which egg you're trying to hatch. If the egg happens to be larger than the standard size, the chances of hatching a rare Pal increase.

While you may be eager to meet a new Pal from the colorful egg you found in the wild, making it hatch isn't as simple as sitting on it to give it warmth. You'll need to work towards unlocking the special Egg Incubator and developing the ability to control the temperature of its surrounding area.

How to unlock and use the Egg Incubator in Palworld

The Egg Incubator is found at level seven in the Ancient Technology tree, which advances alongside the standard Technology tree. The difference between the two trees is that recipes within the Ancient Technology category can't be unlocked using the usual Technology Points earned when leveling up. Instead, players will need to earn an Ancient Technology Point to unlock the Egg Incubator's recipe.

After reaching level seven and unlocking the Egg Incubator's recipe, you'll need the following to craft it:

  • 10 Paldium Fragments
  • Five Cloth
  • 30 Stones
  • Two Ancient Civilization Parts

You can place the Egg Incubator an your base like other workstations and furniture. Once placed, you'll need to choose an egg to put inside. Here are the different eggs you can find throughout Palworld, along with the type of Pal that will hatch from it:

Different eggs will require different temperatures to progress the time it takes until they hatch. Some need a colder space, while others require a much warmer area. Placing the Egg Incubator indoors is an easy way to provide warmth, but it presents a problem for eggs that prefer the cold. You can combat this by building multiple Egg Incubators dedicated to either warm or cold-preferring eggs.

Other than being placed indoors, players can warm their Egg Incubators by placing it near a campfire. Using a campfire will only raise the progression speed to 50 percent and becomes the less preferred option once the Heater is available at level 17. The Heater requires a Fire-type Pal to operate and raises the incubator's progression speed to 100 percent. Similarly, incubators that need colder temperatures can be placed near the Cooler that unlocks at level 18.

With the egg in the incubator and the temperature set, all that's left is to play the waiting game. Once the time remaining on the Egg Incubator elapses, you must interact with the incubator to hatch the egg inside. Congratulations are in order — you're this Pal's new parent. Now that you know how to operate the Egg Incubator, you're one step closer toward breeding the perfect Pal.
