After a few hours in Palworld, you’ll realize that the basic weapons and tools won’t cut it for the mid to late game. You’ll also start encountering piles of rock that have a different shine and color than regular Stone piles, which hold an important resource: Ore.
Ore is an essential ingredient for crafting better weapons, items, and materials, so knowing the where to find it and how to use it is important.

Ore location in Palworld
Players can find Ore in almost all locations in Palworld. You’ll notice rock formations with a reddish tint to them that look different from traditional Stone deposits. Breaking these formations works the same way as regular Stone. Just hit the pile of rocks with a Pickaxe to collect Ore, which you can take back to your base to create Ingots.
How to use Ore in Palworld
Ore isn’t very useful by itself, but it can be turned into Ingots, which are needed for better weapons and items. You need to craft a Primitive Furnace, which is available to unlock in the Technology menu at level ten. Once the furnace is created, you can place the Ore inside to turn it into Ingots.
In order to use the Primative Furnace, you need a Pal with the Kindling ability in order for it to work. One of the easiest Pals to nab for this ability is a Foxparks, which can be found near the starting area around the Rayne Syndicate's Tower as indicated below. Without a Pal that can run the furnace, you won't be able to smelt your Ore into Ingots.

It's possible to have Pals mine Ore in your base, but an Ore deposit must be nearby. If mining for Ore is something you'd rather avoid, consider building your base where there is ample Ore in the surrounding area for your Pals to destroy and collect.
Ore is essential for upgrading gear past the Stone type, and the better gear will make collecting resources quicker and easier.
