Palworld is Borrowing a Really Good Idea from RimWorld

If your Pals at your base can't focus on doing just one thing, Pocketpair's next update has a solution.

Palworld developer Pocketpair has released a couple of sneak peeks as what’s coming in the next major update, which includes a fancy new management screen that’s reminiscent of sim games like RimWorld. The news comes from Bucky, a community manager for Pocketpair, who posted a screenshot on Twitter of some changes that are coming to the Monitoring Stand facility.

In the current version of Palworld, the Monitoring Stand is really only good to set the pace at which Pals labor when they’re stationed at your base, but the faster they work, the faster their Happiness stat drains, which means your Pals will rapidly start picking up stress debuffs. If you want to turn Palworld into a sweatshop simulator, more power to you, but it’s counterproductive.

With the update, the Monitoring Stand will now let you micromanage your Pals when they’re stationed at your base. You can turn Pals’ skills on and off, so they’ll specifically focus on whatever job you want them to do.

This is going to come in handy for various mid- and endgame Pals, which often have so many skills that it’s difficult to get them to focus. Personally, I’m looking forward to being able to get my Anubis out of the mining plantation and back on the production line. That Pal just loves breaking rocks, man.

The Monitoring Stand update was announced at the same time as a new endgame boss, Bellenoir, which is described as Palworld’s first raid.

At time of writing, Pocketpair has not announced a release date for the next major Palworld update. The Steam version is currently marked down 10% as part of the Spring Sale, however, so that’s something.
