With the vaulting of Io, Titan, Mars, and Mercury there’s a bunch of content leaving Destiny 2 for the foreseeable future. Sure, it’ll return some day, but who knows when? Even if Bungie does bring some content back every year, it could be many years before some content is seen again. While the developers can reissue weapons and armor, that’s not really possible with titles and seals which will likely be done for good if you don’t work on them now. Here are the four titles and seals which are affected and what you’ll need to do before November 10, 2020 when they’re retired.
To be clear, not all of the Triumphs required for these seals are going away. The ones that are, however, can stop you from completing everything you need for the title. We recommend pursuing the ones that are being archived.
There are some players who think the entire Seal will be vaulted since it can’t be completed. If that’s the case, well, you’ll need to do everything before November 10.
Archived Seals & Titles
Unless Bungie changes the rules, the following Seals will no longer be available come November 10:
- Shadow
- Blacksmith
- Wayfarer
- Chronicler
Vaulted Shadow Title Content
Everything in this badge is being archived including the Crown of Sorrow challenges, Menagerie content, and everything in the Season of Opulence collections badge. This is by far the most straightforward badge. Either do it all before November 10 or lose out. Since everything is being vaulted, there’s no way to do some of it now and finish it later.
Vaulted Blacksmith Title Content
While the forges on Earth aren’t going anywhere, Bungie has made the decision to vault the Scourge of the Past raid for now. This means you need to complete all of the challenges, loot all of the hidden chests, and finish a flawless run before November 10. If you do all of that, you can finish out the rest of the Triumphs later.
The good news is Bungie has disabled the weekly loot limit. While this doesn’t apply to secret chests, you can grind the entire raid and keep getting drops after each encounter.
Vaulted Chronicler Title Content
Three of the ten lore books required for the Chronicler title will no longer be available after this season. They are:
- The Awoken of the Reef
- Found in the Dreaming City, Tangled Shore, and elsewhere in the system.
- Uldren Sov (The Forsaken Prince)
- Found in the Tangled Shore and elsewhere in the solar system.
- Ghost Stories
- Completed through Dead Ghosts found throughout the solar system.
For these, we highly recommend using something like Braytech.org to track your progress and this Reddit thread which has videos of each location.
As we’ve said before, complete these three and you’ll be able to do the rest later.
Vaulted Wayfarer Title Content
Let’s start things off with the Triumphs that are being archived, we’ll address the badges afterward. Make sure to complete all of these Triumphs if you want to be able to earn the Wayfarer title. They’re actually really easy and just require some time investment.
The first step is to eliminate all of the wanted escapees on the leaving planets.
Io Wanted Escapees
- WANTED: Ruined Mind (Found in Aphix Conduit)
- WANTED: Pandrok, Pillar of Nothing (Found in Sanctum of Bones)
- WANTED: Qeldron, Keepr (Found in Grove of Ulan-Tan)
Titan Wanted Escapees
- WANTED: Karugul (Found in Methane Flush)
- WANTED: Thaan’Hul (Found in DS Quarters-2)
- WANTED: Golmuut (Found in Cargo Bay 3)
Mercury Wanted Escapees
- WANTED: Subterranean Mind (Found in Pariah’s Refuge)
Mars Wanted Escapees
- WANTED: Keresh, Champion of Xol (Found in Core Terminus)
- WANTED: Valus Dulurc (Found in Ma’adim Subterrane)
In addition to that you need to complete five Heroic adventures on Io, Titan, Mars, and Mercury.
Wayfarer Title Red War Badge
The real difficult part is completing the Destination badges. At the very least, the Red War Badge is pretty straightforward. All you need is some basic armor sets from Io and Titan. Just talk to Sloane and Asher and outright purchase the pieces of armor that you need. If you don’t have a high enough reputation rank, simply keep turning in planetary materials until you have a full set.
Wayfarer Title Curse of Osiris and Warmind Badge
Now this is the really difficult part of the content that is leaving. Every single item in this badge is being archived which means you need to get at least one of everything before November 10.
Venus Gear
- Complete all Lost Prophecy verses for Brother Vance to earn all 11 weapons and Sagira’s Shell.
- Get a full set of Kairos patrol armor from Brother Vance through rank-up packages or purchase.
Mars Gear
- Get all four Mars weapons from rank-up packages.
- Niflheim Frost, 18 Kelvins, The Frigid Jackal, and BrayTech Winter Wolf.
- Get BrayTech Osprey from the Strange Terrain Nightfall.
- Complete Data Recovery world quest on Mars for Braytech RWP MK. II and IKELOS hand cannon.
- Grind for all three Escalation Protocol weapons from the weekly bosses.
- Reminder: All three weapons drop from Naksud and Bok Litur.
- Grind for a full set of Escalation Protocol armor.
- These drop from the chest at the end which no longer requires keys to open.
- If you have not yet earned a full set, they will drop in order until you do.
- Get a full set of BrayTech patrol armor from Ana Bray through rank-up packages or purchase.
- Complete Nascent Dawn exotic quest for Polaris Lance.
- Complete The Machine’s Gun exotic quest for Sleeper Simulant.
- Note: Worldline Zero IS NOT required.
