Destiny 2 Season of the Wish Gear Guide - Weapons, Armor, Cosmetics

Season of the Wish is here and full of new and reprised weapons and armor to chase.

Season of the Wish is the last season for Destiny 2 as far as we know, and will lead into the release of The Final Shape. Guardians are headed back to the Dreaming City with new seasonal weapons, armor,  the Dragon’s Breath Exotic, and there’s more to get when the dungeon and the Dawning event launch. Let’s take a look at the gear available!

Season of the Wish Legendary Armor and Ornaments

Seasonal Legendary Armor - The Wyrmguard Suit

The seasonal armor set can be earned from the new Riven’s Lair and The Coil activities, alongside the season’s new weapons.

Season Pass Ornament Set - Anthemic Invocation Suit

The new ornament set for each Guardian class is unlocked as part of the premium season pass track. Like in previous seasons, players can unlock each part of the set starting at Rank 64 for the arms, Rank 73 for boots, Rank 83 gives the class item, Rank 91 rewards the chest piece, and Rank 97 gives the helmet to complete the set.

Season of the Wish Legendary Weapons

The first set of weapons to talk about are the six brand new seasonal weapons for Season of the Wish, all of which are craftable and feature the new Dragon’s Vengeance origin trait.

  • Supercluster: Strand slug shotgun
  • Doomed Petitioner: Void linear fusion rifle
  • Scatter Signal: Strand rapid-fire fusion rifle
  • Lethophobia: Void lightweight bow
  • Appetence: Stasis trace rifle
  • Scalar Potential: Arc rapid-fire pulse rifle

Dragon’s Vengeance origin trait: When an ally dies or you reach critical health, this weapon’s magazine refills, and it gains bonus range, charge rate, and handling.

The first set of weapons reprised are the original Dreaming City weapons from both the Shattered Throne dungeon and Blind Well activities, and while you might not want to run Blind Well again in 2023, all seven weapons have new perk rolls and the new origin trait called Advanced Reflex.

  • Tigerspite: Kinetic precision auto rifle
  • Twilight Oath: Solar rapid-fire sniper
  • Abide the Return: Solar adaptive sword

  • Waking Vigil: Arc adaptive hand cannon

  • Sleepless: Arc high-impact rocket launcher

  • Vouchsafe: Void lightweight scout rifle

  • Retold Tale: Void precision shotgun

Advanced Reflex origin trait: Upon taking damage from a target, quickly guard or aim down sights with this weapon to gain bonus mobility, handling, and charge rate for a short time.

Season of the Undying Reprised Weapons

Also returning are the Season of the Undying weapons. These were originally from Season 8, when Shadowkeep launched. All four of these weapons are craftable and players can focus them at the Spirit of Riven in the HELM and will now feature the Nanon Munitions origin trait.

  • Optative: Void precision hand cannon
  • Adhortative: Solar adaptive pulse rifle
  • Imperative: Kinetic high-impact scout rifle
  • Subjunctive: Arc Lightweight submachine gun

Nano Munitions origin trait: Being near allies slowly builds up a partial emergency ammo refill for the next time this weapon runs out of ammo. Emergency ammo amount increases with time spent near allies.

Season of the Wish Ritual Weapons

From each ritual vendor: Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit is also the new ritual weapon:

God Roll, Chivalric Fire, pve, pvp

  • Chivalric Fire: Void caster frame sword

As with all ritual weapons, you can get this sword by hitting Rank 16 with either Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit vendors, and the roll on the weapon is static.

In the first column:

  • Relentless Strikes
  • Repulsor Brace

In the second column:

  • Attrition Orbs (new perk): Dealing sustained damage creates an Orb of Power.
  • Destabilizing Rounds

The Competitive Crucible Division is seeing a new Legendary weapon enter the fray:

  • Belisarius-D: Strand aggressive burst pulse rifle

Like with previous weapons exclusive to the Competitive Division of Crucible, you can get one roll of Belisarius-D per character, per week, and it comes with stock options in the origin trait column in addition to the Hakke Breach Armaments trait.

Season of the Wish Trials of Osiris

Trials of Osiris is seeing one new and one returning weapon added to the loot pool:

  • Incisor: Strand adaptive trace rifle
  • Eye of Sol: Kinetic adaptive sniper

Both Trials weapons also have an Adept variant with slightly stronger stats, and it’s worth noting the Incisor joins the Appetence (one of the seasonal weapons) as the first two Legendary trace rifles to fill the Kinetic weapon slot as Strand and Stasis respectively.

Season of the Wish Iron Banner

Iron Banner also sees one new and one returning weapon added to its loot pool:

  • Lethal Abundance: Strand high-impact auto rifle
  • Riiswalker: Kinetic lightweight shotgun

Season of the Wish Exotics

Unfortunately this season has no new piece of Exotic armor for each subclass. The last time this happened was Season of the Seraph, which was the last season that led into an expansion. There are some Exotic weapons to look out for though!

Dragon's Breath, Exotic, Season of the Wish

Dragon’s Breath is returning from Destiny 1 as an Exotic rocket launcher that comes as part of the season pass track: Rank 1 for premium pass owners and Rank 35 for free pass owners.

Destiny 2, Wish-Keeper, Exotic

Also the Wish-Keeper Exotic Strand bow, which will be craftable and available through the Exotic mission Starcrossed on December 19. For more information on these Exotics and their catalysts, we also have a guide just about them!

All of this doesn't include the new gear coming from the new Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon launching on December 1, which should also include a new set of Legendary weapons, armor, and an Exotic to chase.
