Oh, Warlocks. It seems we tend to get the short end of the stick when it comes to Exotic armor pieces in Destiny 2. But it’s not all bad, as while Warlocks may not have a lot of powerful options, the viable ones we do have are extremely useful. Here are our picks for the best Warlock Exotics in Destiny 2 right now.
We have plans to update this guide following the launch of Beyond Light. If you’re seeing this, we haven’t yet gotten around to it or are waiting on more information. Check back soon!
1. Felwinter’s Helm (PVE)
When it was introduced, Felwinter’s Helm was disabled for weeks at a time owing to bugs and unintended behaviors. But it’s been stable for a while now, and it’s a solid choice for any Warlock who likes to get up close and personal. Its Exotic perk stuns enemies around you when you perform a charged melee attack or a finisher, preventing them from counterattacking and making them easy pickings. Plus, doesn’t it just look so cool?
2. Nezarec’s Sin (PVE)
Ever since Season of the Undying, Nezarec’s Sin has been a strong Warlock Exotic. And with the return of suppression Void grenades, it’s back on top again. That said, you don’t have to be running a Void subclass to use it — it pairs well with this season’s breakout star Gnawing Hunger, replenishing your ability energy on every kill you get with the auto rifle.
3. Ophidian Aspect (PVP)
It’s not the flashiest Exotic, but Ophidian Aspect is a great neutral game choice for PVP. This Exotic improves your ready and reload speed, as well as your melee range. In the Crucible, those little boosts can be the difference between victory and defeat.
4. Crown of Tempests (PVE)
A perennial fav, the Crown of Tempests remains the best Exotic pick for Stormcallers despite the introduction of other options like Stormdancer’s Brace. It ensures you’ll be casting your super as often as possible, and can even be useful in Crucible if you’re good at landing your Arc grenades.

5. Transversive Steps (PVP)
Another utilitarian Warlock Exotic for the Crucible, Transversives boost your sprint speed and reload your weapon for you after a brief run. A good choice for aggressive play where speed matters, especially when using weapons with frequent and/or slow reload animations.
6. Phoenix Protocol (PVE)
Ever since Lunafaction Boots were nerfed, Phoenix Protocol has been that much more attractive to Well of Radiance users. In certain activities, like Reckoning, this is almost an essential choice. Elsewhere, it’s a solid Exotic that will help keep you and your fireteam alive and doing increased damage.
7. Sunbracers (PVE)
Sunbracers soared in popularity in the Solar-focused Season of the Dawn, and with the right build they’re still unreal. Using top tree Dawnblade and the seasonal mod Solar Plexus along with a Demolitionist weapon, you can get into a situation where you’re able to chain melee attacks and grenades over and over in the air.
