With the Destiny 2 seasonal story arc concluded, the Solstice event has officially returned to give you more goodies to grind for. Similar to previous Solstice events, players will be able to upgrade the armor they earn to unlock unique glows that change depending on your subclass. The EAZ activity returns, but with a noticeable twist. Instead of just killing enemies within a time limit, players are tasked with igniting and building a massive bonfire.
Of course, the biggest draw is improving your gear which is now done by earning three new currencies tied to Solstice. The hardest to obtain is Kindling and Event Tickets, which are tied to the new Event Card. The former is used to improve your Candescent armor while the latter unlocks cosmetic rewards if you decide to purchase the Solstice Event Card for 1,000 Silver.
How to Get Kindling and Event Tickets
To earn Kindling and Event Tickets you will need to complete the Event Card challenges. These can be found by opening up your quest menu and selecting the Solstice card. You will enter a submenu that shows all of the challenges along the top right. There are 24 in total and completing a challenge will reward you with a single Kindling and Event Card. There are no other ways to obtain these items and you’ll only have the duration of the Solstice event to finish all of the challenges. Completing all the challenges will also earn you the Firestarter seal for those looking for more rewards to earn. Again, the only way to earn these currencies is through the Event Card Challenges.
To fully unlock the white glow of your Candescent armor it will take a total of 6 Kindling. The three stages are Small Kindling (1), Large Kindling (2), and Fully Rekindled (3). This does not include the class item, which doesn’t take any Kindling. So if you want to have a complete set that glows white, you’ll need to complete all 24 challenges.

- All Around the Bonfire: Complete the Bonfire Bash activity against all combatant races (2 times with the Cabal, 2 with the Hive, 2 with the Fallen) — rewards Kindling, Event Ticket, and a player banner
- Fuel for the Fire II: Stoke more flames in the Bonfire Bash (100 total) — rewards Kindling and Event Ticket
- Fuel for the Fire III: Stoke even more flames in the Bonfire Bash (150 total) — rewards Kindling, Event Ticket, and the Hyperborean Pinion sparrow
- Like Wildfire: Defeat targets anywhere in the system. Defeating Guardians awards bonus progress — rewards Kindling and Event Ticket
- Pyromania: Defeat combatants with Solar abilities — rewards Kindling and Event Ticket
- Superlative: Defeat targets with Super abilities — rewards Kindling and Event Ticket
- Fire Power: Defeat combatants or opposing Guardians with Power weapons (heavy ammo final blows) — rewards Kindling and Event Ticket
