The Destiny 2 Season 18 seasonal mods have been revealed ahead of release, and there are some interesting changes and additions to dig into already. While Lightfall is still on the far horizon, The Witch Queen still has a ton of tricks up its sleeve, and a new season is forthcoming to keep on expanding storylines and season passes while shortening our vault inventory spaces. This guide explains what to expect in terms of Season 18 seasonal mods in Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Season 18 Seasonal Mods – New and Returning Mods
As shown in TWAB the week before the Season 18 release, there are both new and returning seasonal mods.
Column 1 Weapon Mods – Requires 0 Previous Unlocks
- Overload Bow (1-Cost Arms): Damage by fully drawn arrows disrupts combatants, stunning them, delaying ability energy regeneration and lowering combatant damage output. Strong against Overload Champions.
- Unstoppable Pulse Rifle (1-Cost Arms): Aiming down sights for a short time causes Pulse Rifles you wield to fire a powerful explosive payload that stuns unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.
- Anti-Barrier Scout Rifle (1-Cost Arms): Scout Rifles you are wielding fire shield-piercing rounds and stun Barrier Champions. Pulse Rifles deal bonus damage against Barrier Champions.
- Anti-Barrier Auto Rifle (1-Cost Arms): Auto Rifles you are wielding fire shield-piercing rounds and stun Barrier Champions. Pulse Rifles deal bonus damage against Barrier Champions.
- Unstoppable Shotgun (3-Cost Arms): Shotguns you wield fire a powerful explosive payload that stuns unshielded combatants. Strong against Unstoppable Champions.
Column 2 Armor Mods – Requires 2 Previous Unlocks
- Scout Rifle Loader (1-Cost Arms): Increases reload speed of Scout Rifles.
- Sword Scavenger (1-Cost Legs): Swords get larger bonus reserves when you pick up ammo.
- Machine Gun Holster (1-Cost Legs): Gradually reloads your stowed Machine Guns over time. Multiple copies of this perk stack to reduce the time taken to fully reload.
- Scout and Sniper Rifle Targeting (2-Cost Helmet): Improves targeting for Scout Rifles and Sniper Rifles.
- Bottomless Bounty I (1-Cost Helmet): Improves the effect of the Right Hook and Runneth Over weapon Origin perks.
Column 3 General Armor Mods – Requires 5 Previous Unlocks
- Glaive Loader (1-Cost Arms): Increases reload speed of Glaives.
- Focusing Strike (1-Cost Arms): Grants class ability energy when you cause damage with a melee attack.
- Thermoshock Plating (2-Cost Chest): Reduces incoming Solar and Arc damage from combatants.
- Machine Gun Scavenger (1-Cost Legs): Machine Guns get larger bonus reserves when you pick up ammo.
- Bottomless Bounty II (1-Cost Helmet): Improves the effect of the Soul Drinker and Hot Swap weapon Origin perks.
Column 4 Chest Armor Mods – Requires 9 Previous Unlocks
This time around, the fourth column is all about Champion mods.
- Overload Machine Guns (1-Cost Arms): Uninterrupted fire from your equipped Machine Guns grants bullets that stun combatants, delaying ability energy regeneration and lowering combatant damage output. Strong against Overload Champions.
- Anti-Barrier Sniper Rifle (6-Cost Arms): Sniper Rifles you are wielding fire shield-piercing rounds and stun Barrier Champions. Pulse Rifles deal bonus damage against Barrier Champions.
- Bad Amplitude (1-Cost Class): Damaging a Champion with an Arc ability causes the Champion to become jolted.
- Surge Detonators (2-Cost Class): Arc grenades disrupt combatants, stunning them, delaying ability energy regeneration and lowering combatant damage output. Strong against Overload Champions.
- Inferno Whip (2-Cost Helmet): Solar melee abilities stun unshielded combatants.
Column 5 Class Item Mods – Requires 14 Previous Unlocks
Here are all of the cool new Solar class mods. Time to empower your fire abilities, Guardians!
- Thunderous Retort (6-Cost Class): Grants bonus Arc Super damage if cast while critically wounded or while amplified. Lasts until the end of the Super activation.
- Amped Up (1-Cost Class): Stay amplified longer.
- Trace Evidence (4-Cost Class): Defeating combatants affected by Arc debuffs spawns an Ionic Trace.
- Lightning Strikes Twice (7-Cost Class): After throwing an Arc grenade, gain increased grenade recharge for a short time. Arc final blows extend the duration of this benefit.
- Sundering Glare (6-Cost Class): Rapid precision hits against distant combatants weakens them for a short duration.
