Creating your own personal island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons can be overwhelming. With so many decorations, terraforming options, and custom designs available it’s easy to miss some of the coolest items out there. While we’ve already covered some ideas for your island and home, we will be highlighting a bunch of terrific custom paths made by community members. These can be laid out once your island reaches a three-star ranking and has K.K. Slider visit. This can take some time, especially if you aren’t using any time travel to speed through the days. Once you have paths unlocked, you can start collecting Custom Designs and using them to create unique walkways and roads for your citizens.
Keep in mind, there are hundreds upon hundreds of creations made by the community so if you’re looking for something specific there’s a chance it’s out there. Instead, we will be focusing on more general paths that can be used in a wide range of islands. We will largely be using the website Nook’s Island for our choices since this website has a rather large collection of custom designs. Additionally, we are only looking at ones you would place outside and use as paths, not on the floor of your home or on stalls.

You’ll notice a few of these paths have a number after the name. This is because they are one part of an entire set you can find on the Creator’s page. We recommend downloading different parts of the set so you can add some variation yo how your path is laid out. For example, instead of having all your rocks laid out in the same patter, mix it up with a few alternate ones to give it more variety and look authentic.
Laying down paths can be pretty time consuming, so try to plan where you want your roads and trails to go. The last thing you want is to put down an entire road only to realize you were off by a few feet. Measure twice, path once!
