This week, you’ll find Xur on Titan. Drop into The Rig area, then head east until you reach the part of the map where the edge rounds out. Xur is hiding in a little building on the far side of that half-circle.
What’s he selling? This week, you can grab the following from him:
- Black Talon: 29 Legendary Shards
- Lunafaction Boots: 23 Legendary Shards
- Wormhusk Crown: 23 Legendary Shards
- Stronghold: 23 Legendary Shards
- Isochronal Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Invitation quest: 9 Legendary Shards
It’s worth noting that Exotic armor now rolls with one of three different Elemental types, as well as a variable number of total stat points. I’ll tell you both of those in the listings below. I’ll also give you my thoughts of the viability of each piece of gear, but if you have the Legendary Shards to spend then it’s always a good idea to buy anything you don’t already have. Gotta fill out those Collections!
Black Talon
The cold, hard truth: swords aren’t meta. They may be a lot of fun, but they’re rarely as useful as a more ranged weapon. The Black Talon is kind of unique, though, in that it can launched ranged attacks. If you want to roleplay as Zero from Mega Man X, the Black Talon is for you. Otherwise, it’s not the best use of your Exotic/Heavy slots.
Lunafaction Boots
Before this season, Lunafaction Boots were basically the required footwear of the Warlock class. Nowadays, they’ve been substantially nerfed. Whereas they previously removed the need for reloading entirely, they now simply grant a large bonus to reload speed. Their usage has dropped quite a bit for Warlocks in favor of gear like Nezarec’s Sin. That’s not to say that they’re bad, exactly, especially in the relatively lackluster field of Warlock Exotics. They just aren’t the essential equipment they used to be. This pair of Lunas is Solar elemental and has a stat total of 48.
Wormhusk Crown
This Hunter Exotic helm heals you after dodging. It’s useful for survivability and pairs well with some of this season’s mods, like the one that gives you an overshield after dodging. Those are all going away in just a few days, though. Still, if you run a dodge-heavy Hunter build, the Wormhusk Crown can be pretty useful. This one is Void elemental and has a stat total of 50.
Stronghold
These Titan gauntlets have a pretty niche perk — they eliminate the ammo cost of guarding with swords, as well as healing you on well-timed blocks. Again, swords aren’t terribly useful in Destiny 2, though this Exotic can be fun to play around with. For instance, blocking a boss’s stomp attack will significantly reduce damage and prevent you from being launched into the air. This instance of the Stronghold is Arc elemental and has a stat total of 52.
Isochronal Engram
Xur’s Isochronal Engram now includes Year Two Exotics, so if you’re missing any of those you can grab this to fill out your collection.
