Destiny 2 Weekend Update, October 4, 2019 - Xur Location, Inventory

I am just having the best week, everybody. Shadowkeep dropped on my birthday, and after some initial server issues, I’ve been having a great time with it. I got a lot of delicious new Hive lore to pore over. And my hair looks great today.

Hopefully, things are going well for you too. Maybe you’re coming off a busy week, excited to get back into Destiny 2. Or maybe you’ve jumped into the game for the first time with New Light. Regardless, it’s an exciting time to be a Guardian. Here’s everything that’s going on in Destiny 2 this weekend.

Destiny 2 Weekly Reset – Week of October 1, 2019

With another weekly reset comes the regular rotation of activities:

Shadowkeep and New Light are Live!

After a tumultuous launch on Tuesday, Shadowkeep and New Light, the free-to-play rebrand of the base Destiny game, are here. If you need some help fighting Nightmares on the Moon or getting some of the new Exotic weapons, be sure to take a look at our Destiny 2 Shadowkeep guides. Here are just a few:

Garden of Salvation Raid Launch

In an unusual move, Bungie has decided to launch the new Shadowkeep Raid on a Saturday. For the less hardcore among us, that means we’ll get to watch as ambitious players stake their claim to be the World’s First all weekend long. Things are going to be a little different this time around, as Bungie is imposing a power cap called a “contest modifier” on the Raid. As a result, the race will be much more about team coordination, puzzle solving abilities, and twitch reflexes than grinding to have a power advantage over the Raid’s enemies.

The Garden of Salvation Raid is also unique in that it directly continues the narrative of the Shadowkeep campaign. So for those of us who felt that things ended somewhat abruptly, the Raid should provide us with some answers.

Xur Inventory and Location — October 4 2019

As of this week’s update, Xur’s inventory and Isochronal Engram now contain Year 2 world-drop Exotics. This week, you’ll find him on Nessus in the Watcher’s Grave, hanging out on Calus’s barge. He’s offering the Wardcliff Coil, The Sixth Coyote, ACD/0 Feedback Fence, and Nezarec’s Sin.

The Wardcliff Coil is a fun Heavy rocket launcher that fires a wide spread of missiles. This weapon was highly favored in the Crucible last season, as its area of effect means that enemy Guardians have a tough time getting away. If you don’t already have it, pick it up.

The Sixth Coyote is a Hunter Exotic chest piece. It gives you two charges for your Dodge ability, which might help your survivability — especially if you’re a new player still getting the hang of things. There are much better Hunter Exotics, but this could be of use to Hunters who just love dodging. This week’s roll is Void Energy with a stat point total of 47.

ACD/0 Feedback Fence is a Titan Exotic gauntlet. It’s… okay. Basically, you build up energy by getting melee kills, then release it when you’re hit by one. Most in-game enemies don’t melee that much — Hive excepted — so this is more useful in the Crucible. That said, there are better Titan Exotics you could be using that don’t rely on getting punched in the face. This week’s roll is Arc Energy with a stat point total of 48.

Nezarec’s Sin is a Warlock Exotic hood. Its perk causes Void kills to increase the regeneration rates of your Void abilities. Paired with a Void energy weapon, this thing is downright nasty in PVE. If you’re looking to try a different Exotic now that Lunafaction Boots have been nerfed, you could do much worse than Nezarec’s Sin. This week’s roll is Void Energy with a stat point total of 48.
