In the This Week in Destiny post, Bungie announced that the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic scout rifle would be added to the loot pool for the upcoming Exotic Mission Rotator in Season 22 when Presage becomes available. This change would make Dead Man’s Tale craftable, and because of that, the gun will no longer be available for purchase from Xûr.
According to the Lightfall and the Year Ahead blog, penned by Joe Blackburn, the game director for Destiny 2, the Exotic Mission Rotator would feature missions from the past on a weekly basis. Players can expect to see Presage from Season 13, Vox Obscura from Season 16, and Operation: Seraph’s Shield from Season 19 in the Season 22 Exotic Mission Rotator.
Chris Proctor, the weapons feature lead at Bungie, appeared on a podcast interview back in December 2022 and talked about Dead Man’s Tale and Hawkmoon being craftable in Year 6 of Destiny 2, which would fall in Lightfall. We didn’t know how that would come to pass back then, but now we have an answer.
With that in mind, it is possible that Harbinger, the Exotic quest for Hawkmoon, could potentially make a return as a part of the Exotic Mission Rotator in the future.
Recently, Bungie also announced the new Season 22 ritual weapons and the upcoming reprised raid launch date next season.
