What’s Going On With Conditional Finality in Destiny 2 PVP?

Conditional Finality dominating Trials of Osiris has Destiny 2 players talking about its power.

After this past Trials of Osiris weekend, Destiny 2 players started questioning whether the Exotic Conditional Finality shotgun should receive a nerf in Crucible. Although a weapon from the PVE Root of Nightmares raid, it's a pretty popular choice in PVP.

Conditional Finality is commonly seen in Trials of Osiris, and it especially comes in handy when capturing a zone. This shotgun is known for countering opponents using troublesome Supers. The Titan Ward of Dawn Bubble and the Warlock Well of Radiance offer protection while giving opponents an upper hand in combat, so defeating them isn't easy.

This Kinetic Stasis shotgun comes with the Paracausal Pellets ability, where landing almost all Stasis shots freezes targets, and landing nearly all Solar shots ignites targets. Conditional Finality can freeze opponents inside the Well of Radiance or the Ward of Dawn Supers, but the dual-barrel adds Solar damage too. It has great handling, and as a Kinetic weapon, players can pair this shotgun with other powerful weapons like the Adept Igneous Hammer Solar hand cannon.

A YouTube video by "Fallout Plays" shares their conflicted feelings about Conditional Finality's solid power and it becoming the meta by dominating PVP matches. The comment section isn't short of opinions, but most players reject the idea of a Conditional Finality nerf simply because it's one of the few weapons that can go against Supers.

Streamer "Aztecross" ran a poll asking players if Bubble or Well should get a nerf in PVP instead of Conditional Finality, and many players seem to be on board. There is a similar consensus in the video's comment section, bringing up issues with Super regeneration in Trials or how Conditional Finality is balanced as an Exotic raid weapon.

With conversations sprouting about the shotgun, one player shared their thoughts on Reddit as someone who doesn't want to see Conditional Finality get nerfed in PVE, which quickly garnered over 400 comments from the Destiny 2 community in the past few days. Players aren't all on the same wavelength but have strong feelings about the shotgun.
