Two PVE Exotic Weapons Are Getting a Buff in Destiny 2 Season 23

Bungie will tune Revision Zero and Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2 Season 23's PVE update.

The This Week In Destiny blog post brings several changes to armor and weapon balancing. Bungie plans on tuning two Exotic weapons in Season 23, Revision Zero pulse rifle and Vex Mythoclast fusion rifle. Bungie didn’t go into detail about this PVE weapon update, but it has given us a preview of what’s to come next season.

Revision Zero and Vex Mythoclast, they will receive “greatly increased damage against Champions,” Bungie said. For PVE, that’s a huge advantage due to the nature of Barrier, Overload, and Unstoppable Champion spawns in endgame activities. These Exotic weapons already have great PVE capabilities with their shield-piercing ammo, full-auto and overcharge perks, respectively.

However, Revision Zero and the Vex Mythoclast, while responsible for many combatant kills and headshots during their prime, have seen better days. Similar or newer weapons have replaced them as the most used weapons in their categories — such as Graviton Lance for Revision Zero or Riptide for Vex Mythoclast — but things look like they are about to change.

The TWID also shared that glaive projectiles and sniper rifles will see increased base damage in PVE, while weapons like auto rifles and pulse rifles get a damage boost against minor combatants. A previous Season 21 mid-season patch blog post had already teased the base projectile speed and shield energy updates for glaives, including class-specific Exotic glaive tuning, that players can expect to see in Season 23.

This week TWID touched on additional changes players can expect with the mid-season patch like updating Young Ahamkara's Spine and Antaeus Wards Exotic armor pieces for PVP, and adjusting Master Rahool’s Exotic engram focusing requirements
