As part of weekly reset, Bungie rolled out a small-but-mighty patch that will satisfy Guardians across Sol. Destiny 2 update 7.1.5.2 makes several important armor mods available once again, returns Sparrows to Bonfire Bash, and includes a few other quality-of-life changes.
Of the more significant gameplay-oriented fixes, Bungie has reenabled the mods Bolstering Detonation, Focusing Strike, Impact Induction, and Momentum Transfer. The developer resolved an issue where the mods could provide more ability energy than intended. Bungie initially disabled the mods after players identified an exploit that could let players earn instant Supers.
However, the developer does not appear to have yet implemented a fix for Utility Kickstart, which it disabled for similar reasons several weeks prior to disabling the ability generation mods.
Additionally, Bungie introduced a welcome change to Bonfire Bash. With the launch of Solstice, some players chasing that sweet, glowing gear weren’t happy to learn that Bungie had disabled Sparrows in the European Aerial Zone. Players had been able to use them in previous years, but Solstice 2023 didn’t allow players to access vehicles to move around the map. Based on player feedback, Bungie enabled access to Sparrows once again.
Other notable updates include a fix for an issue where expected activities on Neomuna were not counting towards the Solstice challenge In the Hot Seat, another that now allows players to properly complete the quest A Guardian in Shining Armor. Alongside, minor UI adjustments, a tweak to the Warlock Aspect Child of the Old Gods now allows it to provide the correct amount of health and ability energy.
Another important change removed a seasonal vendor objective from Guardian Rank 6 to allow all players, including New Light players who do not own the game’s seasonal content, to access armor charge mods. The initial issue caused some players to accuse Bungie of hiding free-to-play content behind the paid DLC.
This patch comes shortly after the mid-season update that implemented several weapon-tuning adjustments and some armor fixes.
