You’re probably familiar with players cheesing every encounter of the Crota’s End raid in Destiny 1, but Destiny 2 players are testing new ways to obliterate Crota in the reprised raid. A YouTube account called “Cheese Forever” shares ways to glitch through activities in Destiny 2, and a recent video shows how solo players can boop Crota off the map in the boss encounter, which has a slim chance of defeating the boss without dealing any damage.
So, here’s how to solo cheese Crota in Destiny 2. In the front of the room near the Oversoul, a bunch of orange-bar Revenant Knights will surround Crota. Head over there and perform a finisher on a Knight next to Crota while facing the Oversoul, and you don’t need to start the damage phase to defeat Crota with this cheese. This will defeat the Knight, but boop Crota off the edge of the map.
Although Crota can respawn back into the encounter if he lands on the rocks outside of the map, pushing him far enough could send him to his death. Shortly after Cheese Forever shared the clip, some players managed to defeat full-health Crota in seconds while running the encounter solo.
YouTuber “TheSnazzzyRock” shares a clip performing the glitch to push Crota off the map. Although their video title claims that it’s the World’s First Crota Solo completion in Destiny 2, the Destiny Raid Report shows that someone completed the solo boss encounter before them.
Eventually, the health bar disappears, and the player is rewarded with loot for defeating Crota. Another player, who goes by the username “neon” in-game, also posted a clip using the same glitch to defeat Crota solo. Surprisingly, this cheese works in the Master version of Crota’s End raid, as YouTuber Esoterickk proves.
This isn’t the first time players have used such an exploit to defeat endgame bosses in Destiny 2, but knowing how cheesable the Crota’s End raid was in Destiny 1 makes this all the more hilarious.
