Destiny 2 Finally Lowering the Number of Weapons in World Drops

Bungie changing the vendor system for Banshee-44 removes weapons from the world drop pool.

Bungie changing the vendor system for Banshee-44 will reduce the number of world drops in Destiny 2. Starting in Season 23, foundry weapon focusing at Banshee takes a select few Suros, Hakke, Veist, and Omolon weapons — from Season 16 through Season 19 — out of the Legendary engram world drop pool.

The This Week In Destiny post listed all foundry weapons players can get from Gunsmith engrams or by focusing weapons with Banshee.

Players who don't have god rolls of popular foundry weapons, like Ammit AR2, might find Gunsmith weapon focusing easier than farming through the immense world drop pool. Weapons not tied to specific PVE or PVP activities are in the world drop pool and can drop from anywhere in the game — even from Legendary and Prime engrams.

Also, some weapons are leaving the world drop pool completely and can't be acquired from Gunsmith engrams or by focusing. Since weapon focusing replaces the row of Legendary weapons available for purchase at Banshee, players will have to check with Xur on the weekends to see if he's selling the following Legendary weapons:

  • Contingency Plan
  • Legal Action II
  • The Number
  • Memory Interdict
  • Pleiades Corrector
  • The Deicide
  • The Vision
  • Stochastic Variable

Currently, Banshee offers Reputation Rank rewards and Power 1600 Legendary weapons for 7,000 Glimmer and 30 Legendary Shards. Next season, foundry weapon focusing with Banshee requires three Gunsmith engrams and 5,000 Glimmer. Focusing will not require Legendary Shards since Bungie plans on removing the currency by the time Destiny 2: The Final Shape launches.
