Destiny 2: Beyond Light is scheduled to release on November 10th, there’s a lot of hype and anticipation building around this major expansion. Similar to both Forsaken and Shadowkeep, Beyond Light is going to shake-up the gameplay formula in a few radical ways. Perhaps the biggest (and most controversial) decision to have a large assortment of weapons not progress with the new expansion. While they will still exist in the world, specific guns cannot be infused higher than the current light cap of 1060. This means the weapon pool in Destiny 2 is getting significantly smaller and old favorites like The Recluse will be retired from the PVE scene.
To help you decide what to keep, we have compiled a list of every single legendary weapon that is surviving the rotation. We will not be including any weapons at the Rare tier, simply because they won’t be viable in any real endgame content. Additionally, every exotic weapon is coming to Beyond Light, so don’t worry about those going away anytime soon. If you need something to do during October or just want to efficiently clean out your vault, here are all the legendary weapons not getting sunset this fall. If you want to know what’s going away, here’s a complete list of what weapons are getting sunset this fall.

When it comes to Primary Weapons, there are still quite a few fantastic choices you should hunt down before Beyond Light releases. Nearly every category has a top tier weapon that can roll with some really potent perks. Personally, I recommend prioritizing getting a good Gnawing Hunger, Death Adder, Breachlight, Dire Promise, and IKELOS_SMG_v1.0.2. These are all extremely solid primary weapons that are perfect “workhorse” guns that can slot into virtually any build. It also helps that some of them can be easily and efficiently farmed via Umbral Engrams!
Special Legendary Weapons
Shotguns
- Astral Horizons
- Prophet of Doom
- Perfect Paradox (Season of Dawn variant only)
- Python
- Felwinter’s Lie
- Hawthrone’s Field-Forged Shotgun (Season of Dawn variant only)
- Seventh Seraph CQC-12
- First In, Last Out (Season of Arrivals variant only)
- IKELOS_SG_v1.0.2
Grenade Launchers
- Orewing’s Maul
- Martyr’s Retribution
- Truthteller
Fusion Rifles
- Main Ingredient
- Techeun Force
- Zealot’s Reward
- Gallant Charge
- Elatha FR4 (Season of Dawn variant only)
- Exile’s Curse
- Timeline’s Vertex (Season of the Worthy variant only)
- Hollow Words
Sniper Rifles
- Eye of Sol
- Bite of the Fox
- The Supremacy
- Omniscient Eye
- Trophy Hunter
- IKELOS_SR_v1.0.2
- Widow’s Bite (Season of Arrivals variant only)
- Long Shadow
Your selection for Special Weapons is a little more limited, especially in the grenade launcher category. If you’re looking to replace Mountaintop, I suggest working towards a god roll of Truthteller. It’s not a perfect replacement, but it’s still quite strong and can roll with some terrific perfects like Demolitionist or Auto-Loading Holster. As for sniper rifles, the IKELOS_SR_v1.0.2 is going to be a popular choice for PVE, while Crucible players will most likely want an Eye of Sol. First In, Last Out and Python are my personal favorite shotguns for PVE, so make sure to pick one up before November.
Power Legendary Weapons
Swords
- Steel Sybil Z-14 (Season of Arrivals variant only)
- Negative Space
- Temptatiopn’s Hook
- Falling Guillotine
Grenade Launchers
- Outrageous Fortune
- Swarm of the Raven
- Interference VI
- Berenger’s Memory
Rocket Launcher
- Bad Omens
- Apex Predator
- Shining Sphere
- Mos Epoch III
- Pyroclastic Flow
- Tomorrow’s Answer
- Hoosegow
Linear Fusion Rifles
- Line in the Sand
- Komodo-4FR
Machine Guns
- Seventh Seraph SAW
Unfortunately, the pool for Power Weapons is pretty low, as there aren’t a lot of firearms surviving the sunset. Falling Guillotine is the best legendary DPS weapon in the game, so hopefully, Bungie doesn’t hit this sword with a nerf going into November. Seventh Seraph SAW is the only machine gun and a god roll of Interference VI is also extremely strong. However, with Power Weapons like Xenophage and Anarchy dominating this slot, this will most likely be where most players use their exotic.
