Destiny 2 Cabal Gold Guide - How to Get Cabal Gold

Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen is officially live, so grab your weapon of choice and get ready to face the Cabal horde. Revolving around stopping Emperor Calus’ daughter Caiatl from uniting the Cabal, players will need to take down various champions that are vying for a seat on her War Counsel. Along with new content, a new currency called Cabal Gold has been introduced. Tied to Season 13, you’ll want to obtain a lot of this gold if you plan on farming weapons, Hammer Charges, and completing Focused Engram challenges.

Here’s how to get Cabal Gold in Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen:

How to Get Cabal Gold

Cabal Gold is given out upon completing activities like Strikes, Crucible matches, Gambit matches, Public Events, and Blindwell waves in The Dreaming City. The amount you earn entirely depends on the activity you complete. For example, finishing a round of Mayhem in PVP will only net you 8 Cabal Gold pieces, while a Strike offers 14. However, through testing, I found that Heroic Public Events are the best method of quickly farming a lot of Cabal Gold. Completing a Public Event with the Heroic modifier will reward 8 Cabal Gold. Given how fast these can be completed, you can easily earn quite a bit in just under 30 minutes.

I recommend picking a big destination like the EDZ, Nessus, or Tangled Shore, where getting to a Public Event is quite simple. Plus, when you finish a Public Event, you’ll most likely be able to find one about to start up somewhere else on that destination. However, if you want to kill two birds with one stone, you can always pick up the new Stasis Fragment quests from the Exo Stranger and work through those while farming Cabal Gold. It’s not always guaranteed, but given how basically every core activity gives gold, you shouldn’t have too much trouble stockpiling some.

Once you have Cabal Gold, you can use it in the Hammer of Proving to let you obtain additional rewards in the Battleground activity. Given using this hammer is the only way to get Hammer Charges, you’ll want to definitely have a few dozen stockpiled. Unfortunately, you can only hold 42 pieces of Cabal Gold for now. However, this may increase as players unlock more rewards.

What’s New in Season of the Chosen?

What’s coming to Destiny 2 over the next three months? For starters, there’s a new seasonal activity called Battlegrounds and, thank the Traveler, it’s a three-player matchmade experience. No more roaming around in patrol hoping people show up to your party. There’s also a new area in the Tower called the Hub for Emergency Logistics and Maneuvers, or HELM. Basically, it’s your new area for coordinating Vanguard operations with the “War Table Seasonal vendor” who we thought was Zavala, but that probably can’t be the case.

You can also use the Prismatic Recaster here and decode your Umbral Engrams at the Umbral Decoder. In a new move, the help document also says players can manage their vault and get items from the Postmaster here! For those who like events, Trials of Osiris is back on February 12 with new armor sets and weapons to chase. Iron Banner is another routine staple and the Guardian Games will be hosted in late April. Will the Titans come out victorious once again?
