Destiny 2: Beyond Light is finally here after months and months of waiting. Acting as the next major chapter in this FPS/RPG hybrid, players will embark on a journey to Europa to battle against a Fallen leader called Eramis and learn more about the true nature of the Darkness. This expansion includes new characters, missions, endgame activities, weapons, and enemy types. But if you’re like me, the first thing you want is one of those fancy new exotic armor pieces that have been teased for weeks. Tied exclusively to Legendary and Master tier Lost Sectors, players will need to venture into these mini-dungeons alone if they want a chance at the new exotics.
This is easier said than done, as the Legendary Lost Sectors are at 1250 Light and filled with Champion tier enemies. So if you want to farm for exotic armorer pieces, I recommend going in at a minimum of 1230 Light. You can do it lower, but 1230 will give you a fighting chance. This is one of the easier Lost Sectors since you can free a bunch of Braytech soldiers to fight beside you. However, even at 1245, I found myself getting swiftly killed if I was out in the open for too long. Additionally, I suggest unlocking all the champion mods for your artifact, because you’ll be making use of them throughout. Finally, these Lost Sector variants only appear once you’ve completed a normal run of that Lost Sector. There are three on Europa and two in the Cosmodrome, so do these first.
Bunker E15 Loadout
Since your loadout is locked at the start you’ll want to make sure you have the right gear equipped. This can change a little as you obtain more Power, but here’s what I used during my farming runs.
- Subclass – Void
- Kinetic – Scout Rifle (Your Choice)
- Energy – Last Perdition (Void)
- Heavy – Anarchy (If you don’t have Anarchy, either a rocket launcher or grenade Launcher)
- Anarchy Alternatives – Xenophage, One Thousand Voices, Leviathan’s Breath, Wardcliff Coil
You will also want to equip the Overload Rounds (Scout Rifle) and the Anti-Barrier Pulse Rifle mod on one of your armor pieces. The rest of the mod slots are yours to customize but consider a way to become Charged With Light and the Protective Light mod. This will give you better survivability when your shield is cracked, which can be absolutely life-saving against Champions. If you don’t have a Last Perdition that’s fine, any pulse rifle will do. Just make sure to run a Void subclass since there are a few Void shields you will need to shatter.
Remember, you will have three lives to start and you’ll gain a life for each Champion you kill. You want to kill all the Champions, as this increases the quality of rewards at the end. Also, if you take longer than 15 minutes, there will be no more respawning even if you have lives.

Beating Bunker E15
When the Lost Sector begins go up the small ramp in front of you and use its apex as cover to shoot the Dregs and Vandals with your scout rifle. There’s an Overload Champion here, but you’ll want to thin the ranks before taking it on. Once you feel comfortable fighting it, peek over the edge of the ramp and stun it with your scout rifle. Quickly throw your grenade on the champion and hit it with Anarchy. You may need to stun it a second time depending on your level, so be ready to quickly follow up with your scout rifle.
After you clear the room, head upstairs and kill the small platoon of Goblins guarding the first cell. These security robots are your new best friends, as they will draw a lot of fire away from you. Escort them downstairs to the next room which has a few more Goblins and a void shielded Minotaur. Use a grenade or melee to break the shield before turning this enemy into scrap metal. Doing so will free another squad of security bots that storm the next area. When you enter the large room, quickly kill the Hobgoblin adjacent to you, and then shoot the Vex box next to it to open another cage of hostages. Now focus your attention on the small group of Goblins to your right before pushing up to where that Hobgoblin originally stood. Blast across the room, kill the other Hobgoblin, and open the last two cages of soldiers.
Doing this will cause another wave of enemies to spawn, which includes a Minotaur and a Cyclops in the center of the room. Use your grenade and Heavy weapon to dispatch the Cyclops before turning your attention to the remaining Goblins and Minotaur. There is a Barrier Champion in this room, however, it mainly stays to the left side and will remain focused on your allies. Leave this foe for last and mop up any remaining Goblins that are wandering around. Now poke the Barrier Champion until its shield goes up before swiftly swapping to your pulse rifle to shatter its shield. Finish it off with your Heave before storming the final room with your army of angry robots.
When you reach the large circular room do not actually leave the door you came through. Instead, we will be hanging out here for 90% of this entire encounter. Not only does it provide good cover, but we can always retreat down the hall to recover health. In the room, you will initially find a Hobgoblin, some Goblins, and a single Wyvern patrolling the inner ring. Prioritize the Wyvern first since it does significantly more damage before mopping up the remaining foes. I’ve found just two Anarchy grenades is enough to damage to outright kill this tough foe.
When the boss battle begins deal with the small group of Goblins that spawn in front of you before shooting the boss with your Heavy. If you’re not using Anarchy be mindful of its shield and remember, your pulse rifle can shoot through it with Anti-Barrier rounds. Once the boss takes enough damage it will teleport around the room, so keep peppering at it until it reaches around 50% health. This will cause another wave of Vex to spawn, including an Overload Champion. Let the Overload Champion rush you and bait it down the hallway behind you.
This will isolate this Minotaur making it easy to stun and kill without the boss shooting you. Now repeat the process of clearing out the Goblins in front of your door before damaging the boss. It will summon a final wave of enemies and another Overload Champion when it has about 25% health left. Do exactly what you did for the last Overload Champion before killing the boss and claiming your rewards. Remember, the champion will not despawn even if you kill the boss. Because of this, I recommend going at your own pace to ensure your safety during the final stretch of this encounter. Don’t worry about the BrayTech Security, they will kill most of the Goblins and heavily distract the boss during this fight.
