The Wardcliff Coil
Probably the most unusual rocket launcher in the game, The Wardcliff Coil usually hangs out near the top of the most-used Power weapons in Crucible. Instead of firing a single rocket, it looses a volley of corkscrewing mini-missiles. Using it effectively requires some practice, but once you get the hang of it it’s capable of taking out multiple Guardians in a single burst with greater ease than any other rocket launcher in Destiny 2.

Okay For: PVE
Truth
While it doesn’t have a ton of applications in normal PVE, Truth is a nightmare in Gambit. As an invader, it’s an easy way to rack up kills without having to get up close with enemy guardians. And when you’re being invaded, well, there are few quicker ways to solve that problem than with a dose of Truth. As a homing rocket launcher it’s simply in its own class. It’s not half-bad in the Crucible, either. The Wardcliff Coil may be the better choice most of the time, but Truth is just below it on the list of the most-used weapons in PVP.

Bad Omens
The legendary Void rocket launcher par excellence, Bad Omens spells doom for your enemies across PVE and PVP with Cluster Bombs and Tracking Module. Another possibility is Quickdraw and Auto-Loading Holster plus the Quick Access Sling mod, which gives Bad Omens unprecedented speed.

Pyroclastic Flow
As one of the few rocket launchers with intrinsic homing properties, Pyroclastic Flow can make great use of its two perk rolls without needing to sacrifice one for Tracking Module. A Quickdraw/Cluster Bombs combo will serve you well in both PVE and PVP, with a Reload masterwork helping the most in the former and Blast Radius in the latter.

Zenobia-D
Another precision frame homing rocket launcher, the Zenobia-D is another all-around rocket launcher that shares many of the same positive qualities as the newer Pyroclastic Flow. It has a few differences, including access to Snapshot Sights for PVP. For PVE, an Auto-Loading Holster/Cluster Bombs combo can be fun. Ultimately, the choice between Zenobia-D and Pyroclastic Flow comes down to preference and what energy type you need.

Roar of the Bear
A slow-firing, hard-hitting rocket launcher from the Iron Banner, Roar of the Bear’s low velocity actually works in its favor when paired with Tracking Module, giving its rockets a better chance of finding their targets. Additionally, its huge blast radius makes it even more likely that any Guardian you fire it at is going to be going down for the count. As Roar of the Bear can’t get Cluster Bombs it’s not a great choice for PVE, but it makes a good budget Truth in Gambit when you want to keep your Exotic slot free for something else.
