How to Turn Crux Convergence Heroic in Destiny 2 Beyond Light

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is finally here after months and months of waiting. Acting as the next major chapter in this FPS/RPG hybrid, players will embark on a journey to Europa to battle against a Fallen leader called Eramis and learn more about the true nature of the Darkness. This expansion includes new characters, missions, endgame activities, weapons, exotics, and enemy types. Unsurprisingly, there is also a new Public Event exclusively tied to Europa. Dubbed “Crux Convergence,” this activity has players defending areas to lower the shields of large Fallen mechs so they can be destroyed. Naturally, you will want to trigger the Heroic modifier for this Public Event to increase the amount of loot you’ll earn at the end.

How to Trigger Crux Convergence’s Heroic Modifier

When this Public Event starts you will be tasked with defending a large shard of Darkness from Fallen enemies. Three Brigs will spawn that are completely immune to damage. Once you stand in the designated ring a percentage meter will begin to quickly fill up. To trigger the Heroic modifier you have to destroy all of the drones hovering over the three shards before the Brigs are defeated and the meters hit 100% at each defense point. There should be three drones per shard, with two typically being static and another moving quickly above you. You will want to destroy the drones before entering the designated area to stand and watch a meter fill up.

Once you’ve destroyed every drone hovering over all three shards, you will activate the Heroic modifier. You can now destroy the three smaller brigs to spawn a much, much bigger Brig. Apparently, this mech took exception to us bullying its robotic children. Now all you have to do is destroy the large Brig before the timer expires to complete this activity.

More Destiny 2 Beyond Light:

For battling the Brigs, I recommend using weapons like grenade launchers and rocket launchers until the faceplate is blown off. This will keep you at a relatively safe distance so you can avoid all of the different attacks that this mech is capable of. Alternatively, if you’re feeling bold, the Falling Guillotine is also extremely good for bringing down the smaller versions of this enemy. Just make sure to initiate with a heavy attack so it can charge while you’re striking at its feet. While this enemy does have a dangerous stomp attack, you can typically kill it before it has a chance to retaliate.

That’s all you need to do for triggering the Heroic Modifier. It doesn’t matter how long you take or if any Fallen make it to the defense points. Just make sure to blow up all the drones before engaging each Brig. I’ve noticed that the drones can sometimes get stuck on the shard, so keep an eye out for them if you can’t find any above you.
