All 8 New Perks Added in the Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Pack Update

Perks of the pack.

While new weapons bring new visuals to Destiny 2’s looter shooter gameplay, nothing can truly shake things up like an abundance of new perks. With the launch of the 30th Anniversary Pack, Bungie has added eight Legendary perks. In this guide, we’ll list all of them and tell you exactly which guns can roll with them.

One thing to note is that these Legendary perks are currently exclusive to guns from this DLC or the associated exotics. A few will likely remain that way, never to be used again, but some will likely see the light of day in The Witch Queen and beyond.

You May Also Like:

Blunt Execution Rounds

Damaging nearby combatants with melee abilities dramatically increases handling and damage. Expires after a short duration or the next shot.

Rolls on: BxR-55 Battler

This perk is a reference to the Halo combination of meleeing someone, cancelling the melee animation, and then shooting them with the Battle Rifle once their shields are down. Is it super useful in Destiny 2? Probably not, but it is a cool flavor.

Cold Steel

Powered Sword hits slow targets.

Rolls on: Nothing!

Not a super powerful perk, but it will keep enemies from scooting away as you try to finish them off.

Duelist’s Trance

Sword final blows grant increased charge rate, efficiency, and defense until this weapon is stowed.

Rolls on: Half-Truths, Hero of Ages, and The Other Half.

If you’re the type to go on long killing sprees with your sword, you’ll probably appreciate this perk.

Eager Edge

Gain increased Sword lunge distance immediately after switching to this weapon.

Rolls on: Half-Truths and The Other Half

This is a big one for Crucible players. Closing the gap between you and your foes to be close enough for the kill is always a challenge.

Golden Tricorn

Final blows with this weapon grant bonus damage. While this buff is active, grenade or melee kills of the same damage type greatly increase its damage and duration.

Rolls on: 1000 Yard Stare (Sniper), Matador 64 (Shotgun), Retraced Path (Trace Rifle)

In PVE, most sniper rifles are used to deal with yellow bar enemies or to chunk down bosses. For the former, this perk seems helpful! And if you have some enemies nearby you can toss a grenade to extend the duration while you reload. It’s also something that could potentially be helpful in Crucible after you get a kill and look for a couple more Guardians to down.

Pace Yourself

Tapping the trigger gives this weapon less recoil and improves accuracy.

Rolls on: Forerunner

Currently exclusive to the Forerunner exotic, this is a flavor perk to make it similar to the Halo pistol. It works though! Forerunner is super good at range.

Pack Hunter

Gain increased handling and reload speed when standing near allies. Firing this weapon also grants Wolfpack Rounds to nearby allies wielding non-Exotic Rocket Launchers.

Rolls on: Gjallarhorn

I wouldn’t expect this perk to be anywhere other than Gjallarhorn in the future. This was really the only way Bungie could make it so everyone isn’t running the infamous rocket launcher all of the time.

Perpetual Motion

This weapon gains bonus stability, handling, and reload speed while the wielder is in motion.

Rolls on: Pardon Our Dust (Grenade Launcher), Eyasluna (Hand Cannon), Wastelander M5 (Shotgun), Cold Front (SMG), BxR-55 Battler (Pulse Rifle), Matador 64 (Shotgun), 1000 Yard Stare (Sniper Rifle), Retraced Path (Trace Rifle)

Out of all the new perks, Perpetual Motion is the most widespread and likely to appear on future weapons. For now, however, it is currently limited to 30th Anniversary Pack guns. This kind of thing is obviously better for run and gun weapons like shotguns, grenade launchers, and SMGs than it is sniper rifles.
