Stardew Valley Dehydrator Guide

Make the most out of your crops!

The recent Stardew Valley update introduces fresh recipes, including the Dehydrator, to enhance your Pelican Town experience. This guide will explain everything you need to know about how to get the Dehydrator recipe and what you can use it for in Stardew Valley.

How To Get a Dehydrator in Stardew Valley

The Dehydrator is a brand-new piece of equipment that you can use for Artisanal purposes. This allows you to dry out pieces of fruit or edible mushrooms, which you can then sell for a higher price. If you have a mushroom cave, you will already have a Dehydrator included.

However, it appears that if your save was pre-existing from before 1.6, you won’t have the Dehydrator included.

Dehydrator ingredients list

In order to get the Dehydrator in Stardew Valley, you need to purchase it from Pierre’s General Store. This recipe will set you back a healthy 10,000 Gold, so make sure you have plenty to spare.

To make the Dehydrator, you need the following items:

  • 30 Wood
  • 2 Clay
  • 1 Fire Quartz

What Does the Dehydrator Make?

The Dehydrator can make three different items. They are the following:

ItemIngredientsSell PriceEnergy/Health
Dried Mushrooms5x Positive Health/Energy Mushrooms7.5x mushroom base price + 253x base restoration rate
Dried Fruit5 of any Fruit7.5 Fruit base sell price + 253x base Fruits Energy/Health restoration
Raisins5 Grapes600 Gold125 Energy, 56 Health

The Dehydrator is a great way to turn inedible fruits into edible ones. For example, Rhubarb is usually inedible, but by drying the fruit, you are able to eat it and get a decent energy and health return from it.

All items that go into the Dehydrator take 1750 minutes (1 day) to fully dehydrate. This means that you can leave an item in first thing in the morning and take it out the next day.

That’s everything you need to know about the new addition to Stardew Valley, the Dehydrator.
