If you’re just getting started in Stardew Valley and are experiencing your first spring, you’ll want to know what crops to grow to get the most money. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about what crops have the highest yield and which ones are worth your time.
Best Spring Crops in Stardew Valley
Parsnip
While Parsnips won’t get you the most money, they are useful to grow as you will need them for the Community Center should you plan on completing that. On top of that, they only take four days to grow, so they can contribute to earning money quickly if you find yourself strapped for cash.
Depending on the quality of your Parsnips, you can earn anywhere from 35-38 at base (depending on if you have the Tiller trait) up to 70-77 gold. While it doesn’t sound like a lot, they grow quickly, and the gold eventually adds up.
Garlic
Garlic is a great option to grow in Spring, and it sells for a reasonably good amount of gold at a base level. You can purchase these seeds for 40 gold, and it only takes four days to grow. At a base level, Garlic sells for a base of 60 gold (66 with the Tiller trait) up to 120-132 gold at epic quality.
Garlic can also be great in the later stages of Stardew Valley, as you can use it to make Garlic oil, which can sell from 135 to 189 gold.
Kale
Costing 70 gold, Kale is a great crop to grow in the Springtime in Stardew Valley. It can make you quite a handsome profit after letting it grow for six days. Kale provides you with a base of 110 gold or 121 gold with the Tiller trait up to a whopping 220 gold (242 gold) if it’s an epic quality. Kale is definitely a crop you don’t want to miss out on growing.
Cauliflower
While Cauliflowers are a great crop to grow, they take 12 days to grow, meaning you’d only be able to grow them twice in the Spring. That being said, they have a great base sell price of 175-192 gold. If you were to sell them at epic quality, you could earn 350 to 385 gold!
Ancient Fruit
Ancient Fruit isn’t a spring-specific crop, but it is still a great crop that you can grow throughout the Spring. That being said, it does take a whopping 28 days to grow, but you can then harvest from the plant every 7 days after. They sell at a huge base price of 550-605 gold. At epic quality, they can be sold for 1,100 to 1,210 gold.
Equally, Ancient Fruit can then be turned into wine, which will sell for an incredible profit of 1650 up to 3,300 gold without the trait. If you have the Artisan trait, you can sell it for 2,310 gold up to 4,620 gold.
Strawberries
Out of all of the crops on this list, Strawberries are the number one crop that you can grow in the Spring. Costing 100 gold from the Egg Festival, they initially take eight days to grow, and then you can reharvest every four days.
From there, you can sell them for a base price of 120-132 gold up to a price of 240-264 gold at epic quality.
The first spring in Stardew Valley can be a difficult one, but if you make sure to grow these crops, you’ll be sure to be raking in a profit as soon as you’ve got your crops up and running!
