Stardew Valley's latest update brings a delightful addition for farming enthusiasts - Carrots! Now available to cultivate, these crunchy crops offer players more variety and potential profit. Once planted, nurture them with care and await the harvest. Here is everything you need to know about Carrots in Stardew Valley, including how to obtain them and how much they sell for.
How to Grow Carrots in Stardew Valley
If you want to grow Carrots, you’ll have to get the seeds through rather unconventional means. Unlike most of the crops, you can’t purchase Carrot seeds from any of the vendors available in Stardew Valley.
Like Broccoli and Summer Squash, you can till Artifact spots and break open boxes in the Mines to obtain the Carrot seeds. You can find them relatively early on in the Spring and can plant them to grow then as well.
Carrots are one of the fastest-growing crops, needing only three days to grow before they are ready for harvest. However, if you don’t yet have access to the Seed Maker, you may want to keep a hold of any Carrot seeds you get, as it may be a while until you get more. You can get the Seed Maker at level 9 Farming.

Carrot Sell Prices and Energy Levels
Carrots can give you a great deal of energy back if you consume one while you’re running low on energy. Here is what you need to know about how much energy and health they can give back to you.
Quality | Energy | Health |
---|---|---|
Normal | 75 | 33 |
Silver | 105 | 47 |
Gold | 135 | 60 |
Iridium | 195 | 87 |
For the energy return alone, they are a great consumable to bring with you to the mines or when you’re doing a lot of tasks that consume a great amount of energy.
When it comes to selling Carrots, they won’t earn you a lot of money. You may have a better chance of selling them for a higher price if you pickle them, but don’t expect a huge return.
Quality | Sell price |
---|---|
Normal | 35 Gold |
Silver | 43 Gold |
Gold | 52 Gold |
Iridium | 70 gold |
