FFXIV's Online Store Adds New Emote and Kicks Off Winter Sale

'Tis the season for discounts!

With the holiday season comes a small wave of new content for Final Fantasy XIV players. This year's Starlight Celebration has just begun, and along with the seasonal festivities, FFXIV's store has just launched a new emote along with a Winter Sale.

The Joyous Leap emote may look familiar to some players. It was rolled out back in September for the Chinese version of the game, leaving players in other regions to wonder when they'd get their chance for a perfect freeze-frame "YEAH!" shot. A few months later, it's no longer a regional exclusive, and it's currently going for $12. Those who purchase it will receive five new emotes to add to their arsenal.

Last year's Starlight Celebration items, the Starlight Steed and Authentic Illuminated Tree, are also available to purchase on the Online Store for the first time. They cost $12 and $5, respectively. Since they're only a year old, they aren't discounted this time around, but it's fair to expect that they will be during the next Winter Sale.

Aside from the new emote and 2022's seasonal items, players also have the sale to take advantage of. Phials of Fantasia and all Tales of Adventure are on sale. This includes story skips, job skips, and retainer skips. If you've been planning to get any of these items for any of your characters already, this is a great time to stock up.

Finally, seasonal items from past Starlight Celebration and Heavensturn events are discounted as well. This includes mounts, furnishings, gear, minions, chocobo bardings, and orchestrion rolls. So, if you've missed any of these seasonal items from past events, now's your chance to pick them up for yourself.
