Editor’s note: The Make It Rain campaign for 2022 in FFXIV is now live! Get your MGP and Show Left and Show Right emotes! Help thicc Sabotender glow up! The original story, published on 5/27/2022, follows.

Shouts out to Fat Joe, but Final Fantasy XIV has been making it rain for years now with its Gold Saucer-themed seasonal event. This year’s Make It Rain Campaign kicks off on Friday, June 3 at 1:00 a.m. PT and will run until Monday, June 20 at 7:59 a.m. PT. During this period, you can play through a new event quest, earn MGP faster, get new emotes, and purchase some prizes at a discount.

In order to take part in the seasonal quest series, you need to be at least level 15 and have finished the early MSQ quest “The Gridanian/Ul’dahn/Lominsan Envoy” (depending on your starting city). Of course, that means you should have access to the Manderville Gold Saucer. To initiate the event, speak to Ollier in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X: 9.4, Y: 9.2) for the quest titled “A Prickly Plaint.” Follow the latest mystery behind a dapper little Senor Sabotender, who seems to be struggling to attract new customers.

Completion of the event questline will reward you with two brand-new emotes: Show Left and Show Right. Gposers are sure to get some mileage out of these, probably in a support role to gas up their mates’ glam. You can see both emotes in the preview image below.

During the Make It Rain 2022 campaign, all players will earn 50-percent more MGP from Gold Saucer games. Be sure to participate in GATEs, minigame instances in the Gold Saucer that occur every 20 minutes, if you want to make the most of it. Minigames machines like Crystal Tower Striker, Monster Toss, and Cuff-a-Cur and a number of other prizes can be purchased at a discount from the campaign attendant while the event is going on. You can also cop Make It Rain prizes from previous years’ events.

Perhaps this would be a good time to stock up on MGP to snag that sweet Pod 602 NieR Automata crossover mount, which costs a whopping 300,000 MGP. If you’re looking for ways to get it (or any other prize) quick, we also included ways to earn MGP fast.
