Shadowbringers, the third FF14 expansion, is right around the corner! Players that pre-order will be able to unlock the new content as early as next Friday. But that doesn’t stop the FF14 Fashion Report from chugging along as usual. It’s still the number one way to earn oodles of MGP, too, and buy exclusive rewards like the Fenrir mount. That sucker alone will still cost you a whole 1,000,000 MGP. So it’s time to get what’s coming to you with yet another FF14 Fashion Report guide.
The “easy 80” — the Fashion Report score that provides the maximum reward for minimal effort — isn’t too bad this week. There are many different options to choose from if you’ve hit the Heavensward part of the Main Scenario Quest. If you’re still early in the story, though, you might have to part with some cash. Let’s take a look!

FF14 makes no bones about making its players look good. Fashion is such an important aspect of the game, in fact, that developer Square Enix introduced the FF14 Fashion Report. This weekly challenge lets players play dress-up for fabulous prizes. Well, more specifically the challenge awards massive amounts of MGP (a special currency used in the Manderville Gold Saucer) that can be exchanged for prizes. You just need to earn the ever-elusive easy 80 points in the Fashion Report by wearing the correct clothing every weekend.

FF14 Fashion Report Scoring – The Basics
As always, you want to have at least one random piece of gear equipped to every slot on your character. This will earn you a minimum of 68 Fashion Report points for no work at all! It also doesn’t include Soul Crystals, so don’t worry about whatever Job you have equipped.
From there, you can increase your score by matching the categories laid out by the Fashion Report judge, as well as adding certain dyes. Matching the correct category of clothing to the weekly theme is worth anywhere from 6-10 points. The correct color of dye (e.g. grey, white, black, etc.) is worth one bonus point per slot, while finding the right shade of dye (e.g. Ice Blue, Chocolate Brown, etc.) is worth two points per slot.
Using dye to boost your Fashion Report score is typically easier than matching every category of item perfectly. That’s because most dyes are awfully cheap and accessible, while most pieces of clothing are expensive — or else require high ranks in crafting Jobs to create. That’s not always the case, of course, since some dyes are only available for special currencies or with real money from the Mog Station.
FF14 Fashion Report: Easy 80 Points for the Weekend of June 21, 2019
Sorry, folks! This week’s easy 80 Fashion Report points are, in fact, pretty easy. But they might set you back in one currency or another — depending on how far you’ve progressed in the Main Scenario Quest. You’ll need a chunk of gil, Grand Company Seals, real-world money, or even a load of MGP itself. On the bright side, the dyes are pretty easy. Just retrieve two pots of Rolanberry Red Dye from any Dyemonger.
If you’re far enough in FF14 that you can access Foundation (the central city from Heavensward), you’re golden! Just go to the far western sector of The Pillars, where all the NPC merchants hang out, and speak to Norlaise. Select “Purchase Disciple of the Hand/Land Gear.” Then mosey into the level 50-60 selection. Here you can buy Patrician’s Gloves: level 50 hand gear that works even if you’re currently a Disciple of War or Magic. Combine this with Rolanberry Red Dye on weapon and boots, and you’re all set.
But what if you haven’t reached Heavensward yet? Here’s where things get slightly more expensive. Your best bet is very likely a pair of Dragonskin Boots: either that you craft yourself, get a friend to make, or buy off the market board. On my server, Dragonskin Boots run for about 26,000 gil. That’s not terrible, but it’s certainly pricier than the 4,435g you’ll spend on Norlaise. Your mileage may very (for better or worse) on your server.
If that’s too expensive, you might need to spend real-world money on an item from the Mog Station. Otherwise there’s always Gold Saucer gear. Seeing as the three tops you can wear all cost about the same as what you earn from the Fashion Report, though… That shouldn’t be your first option. Here are some other selections for the FF14 Fashion Report this week. Maybe you’ve already got what you need!
- Head – Titanium Helm of Fending, Helm of the Divine War
- Body – Gambler’s Trenchcoat, Bunny Bustier, Bunny Chief Bustier
- Hands – Patrician’s Gloves, [Grand Company] Sergeant’s Shortgloves, Songbird Gloves
- Legs – N/A
- Feet – Falconer’s Boots, Dragonskin Boots
- Earrings – N/A
If you have any one of these, or manage to acquire one, you can supplement the rest of your outfit by using two or more fully correct dyes. Bear in mind that you must supplement your outfit with at least two top-level dyes if you use only one of the gear items listed above. The best dyes for the FF14 Fashion Report this week are:
- Weapon – Rolanberry Red (Dyemongers)
- Head – Jet Black (Real Money Purchase)
- Body – Jet Black (Real Money Purchase)
- Gloves – Jet Black (Real Money Purchase)
- Legs – Jet Black (Real Money Purchase)
- Feet – Rolanberry Red (Dyemongers)
FF14 Fashion Report Tips for This Week
This is another fairly easy week for the FF14 Fashion Report. Most people should be able to get the easy 80 points with little trouble — practically none if you’re far enough in the story. I recommend checking your Grand Company seals, as well. If you’re level 39 or higher, and maxed out on seals, you can shave some off by using the Sergeant’s Gloves. Falconer’s Boots are also easy to acquire, but seem pricier than Dragonskin. Avoid those unless you absolutely have no other choice.
And, as is always the case, you must first complete the quest “Color Your World” to apply dye in FF14. You can start it at level 15 as any class by speaking to Swyrgeim in Western Thanalan (X: 12.6 Y: 14.3). Even if you can hit the easy 80 points this week without dyes, it’s well worth doing for future FF14 Fashion Report checks. You’ll even get a couple of free dyes for your trouble, to start! These are normal Dyemonger dyes. As such, they will often work for the FF14 Fashion Report in future weeks.
