While it may feel like PAX East and the reveal of Final Fantasy XIV's Dawntrail expansion's release date was only a short time ago, the development team is already set to share more info with the community after announcing Letter from the Producer LIVE LXXX. A new Lodestone post announced the 80th iteration of Letter from the Producer Live, better known by the shorthand "Live Letter" to FFXIV's community, set to take place on April 12.
The Live Letter will be broadcast live on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 9:00 pm PDT. It will be part of the upcoming 14-hour 10th Anniversary Celebration broadcast, one of the final events celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. Square Enix will reportedly add links to the stream at a later date, but expect the streams to be on the usual FFXIV's official YouTube, Niconico Live, and Twitch channels.

As per the announcement, this Live Letter will focus on Patch 7.0 and the initial release of Dawntrail, miscellaneous updates, and a segment called "A Realm Resplendent with Warriors of Light." This unique segment will highlight statistics for FFXIV and possibly give insight into information like official player numbers.
This Live Letter will be the chance for players to get a sneak peek at Dawntrail since there's a lot of speculation about the expansion's release and Patch 7.0. The usual Live Letter hosts, FFXIV director and lead producer Naoki "Yoshi-P" Yoshida and global community producer Toshio "Foxclon" Murouchi, will likely highlight teasers of locations, mounts, minions, and more.

Letter from the Producer Live LXXX will be the first Live Letter in nearly six months. The previous iteration was in October 2023 during the Tokyo Game Show and focused on updates for Patch 6.51 through Patch 6.55. Since then, FFXIV fans have been treated to reveals and teasers at major events like the London and Tokyo Fan Fests rather than Live Letters. Even though there's been no lack of information and news, the return of the Letter from the Producer Live is a welcome return to the usual format.
