Details of the next big crossover event for Final Fantasy XIV have been released, with Square Enix detailing exactly what to expect from the Yo-kai Watch collaboration taking place in-game from April 24. The event was previously revealed as part of the Live Letter on April 12, but full information was released today in posts made on the official Lodestone site and across social media.
The Yo-kai Watch: Gather One, Gather All event will, as mentioned, run from April 24, 1am PDT until the release of Patch 7.0 (Dawntrail). This returning event will see players equip the Yo-kai Watch once more and gather Yo-kai minions by earning Yo-kai medals. Once 13 of them have been collected, you can summon them to your side to earn Legendary Yo-kai medals, which are used to unlock special Yo-kai Watch weapons.
In total there’s 17 minions, three mounts, 17 weapons, and one framer’s kit tied to this event. The framer’s kit is new for the 2024 edition, and can be unlocked for MGP in the Golden Saucer.

However, perhaps disappointingly, there are no new weapons being added for Endwalker jobs. When the event last returned in 2020, it was updated from its original 2015 release with new weapons and minions corresponding to the jobs released in Shadowbringers and Stormblood.
With the lack of updates for Endwalker jobs, and just a framer’s kit for players who’ve already completed the event, the comments beneath the Twitter post and Reddit thread were filled with disappointment.
Still, for any of us who remember grinding through hundreds of FATEs to secure Legendary Yo-kai medals from last time, this might be a welcome break. Besides, some of us have since spent at least two expansions grinding a different set of FATEs for Bicolor Gemstones, and also spent much of the Stormblood and Shadowbringers Relic Weapon Quests grinding FATEs as well. Maybe one event without a FATE grind could be nice.
