In Dragon's Dogma 2, the inclinations of your trusty pawns can mean the difference between victory and defeat in the most perilous encounters. Some inclinations are naturally better suited for certain vocations than others. This helps capitalize off of their strengths and means their weaknesses aren’t such a massive detriment compared to if you chose a different inclination. Here are the best inclinations for every pawn vocation.
Best Inclination for Fighter
If you’ve chosen a Fighter for your main Pawn, there is only one inclination that will be the best for them. You want them to go in guns blazing and be as aggressive as possible to allow you to battle but also stay safe at the same time. For that reason, you’ll want to choose the Straightforward inclination for your Fighter Pawn. This allows them to take aggro from enemies so that you can do damage on the backline.
Should you want a more defensive side to your Pawn, you can go with the Kindhearted inclination. This means that they will stick to your side like glue and use more defensive skills in an attempt to keep you as safe as possible.
Best Inclination for Mage
Mages have a bit more flexibility in their inclination choice, depending on what you want out of them. If you need some healing from your mage, the Kindhearted inclination is the best choice, as they will set your enemies on fire and make sure to aid you when you need it.
Calm Mages are more independent and will take on enemies on their own. If you find you need defensives, Calm Mages aren’t the way to go.
If you want a mix of offensive and defensive abilities from your Mage, Simple is the way to go. They will mix it up and use both offensive and defensive spells as and when needed.
Best Inclination for Warrior
While they are somewhat similar to Fighters, they are more about outputting heavy damage and have fewer defensive capabilities. With Warriors, there is no other choice than Straightforward. This is because you want them in the thick of it, taking all of the aggro and doing as much damage as they possibly can to the enemy.
Best Inclination for Sorcerer
Sorcerers play very similarly to Mages, but they do bigger, better damage. Kindhearted is a good option for Sorcerer but isn’t the best. Calm is the best inclination for Sorcerer, as it allows them to do as much damage as they see fit without worrying about defensive capabilities.
Best Inclination for Archer
Archers are long-range damage only. For that reason, you want to go with a Calm inclination for your Archer Pawn. This helps boost the AI into aiming for the enemy’s vital points and, in turn, doing more damage to the opponent. Calm is the best inclination if you want to ensure that your Pawn doesn’t run headfirst into a dangerous situation and get themselves killed. Calm Pawns generally play out a situation a bit smarter than you’d find with other inclinations.
Best Inclination for Thief
Thieves are some of the squishiest vocations available. As a result, you’ll want to avoid inclinations such as Straightforward and Simple, as you don’t want them to be rushing into danger. Calm is the best inclination for Thieves, as it means that their damage will be tactical, and they’re likely to aim for the enemy’s weak spots and try to stay out of trouble.
