Today marks the release of Patch 6.15 for Final Fantasy XIV. It’s one of the smaller content patches, adding the new Arkasodara Tribal quests, the Beyond the Rift Omega questline, and the return of Hildibrand. Yet all anyone seems to be talking about in the FFXIV community is Endwalker’s version of the Custom Deliveries.
That’s not because everyone has caught crafting fever. It’s because of a single line tucked in the middle of the patch notes: “Players can gain the ability to cast glamours on Ameliance by raising her satisfaction level to the maximum.” Yeah, everyone wants the ability to glamour up one Mrs. Ameliance Leveilleur, mother to Alisaie and Alphinaud and wife to Fourchenault.
Perhaps it’s that wry smile and quick wit. Maybe it’s because we can’t glamour any of the Scions and this is some folks’ only option. Regardless, everyone has either begun their grind to get into Ameliance’s good glamour graces or is making jokes surrounding the situation. “Roses are red, Violets are blue. Put her in 2B tights, and Alisae will find you,” joked Reddit user Exorrt.
Others simply want to save Ameliance from the horrible default outfit she has in all of the cutscenes. For a lady that prides herself in giving her kids the most fashionable clothes, she’s not loving herself.
“I haven’t glamm’d any one of the custom deliveries, but I will make an exception in this case,” said Reddit user SkyStoneShark. “Sorry ma’am, but I cannot bear to see you in a sleeping gown 24/7 any longer. You will be fashionable for each season and seasonal events, and not be [in a] ready-for-sleep gown ever again.”
That’s not even counting those that have made more risque jokes about the situation. Some who didn’t know about the Custom Deliveries glamour system are acknowledging how it’s the gateway to what we all want. “The whole custom delivery system feels like it was intended first as a dating sim system,” says Reddit user Markz6197.
Either way, the time of Ameliance glamour is upon us, as the crafters among us do their duty so that they can dress up one specific character. It’d be so odd if it wasn’t so FFXIV.
