Meta Knight is another character from the greater Kirby franchise. Like a lot of “villains” from that series, he’s more of an anti-hero than anything else. Although his sinister look definitely implies otherwise.
According to their official Nintendo character description…
This fighter not only has tons of quick moves, he can perform a midair jump five times! All his special moves have a recovery aspect, so use them at the right time. His Final Smash is Darkness Illusion, which unleashes a fast series of aerial attacks.
Meta Knight Moves
Mach Tornado (B) – Twirls and hits enemies to launch them. Repeated button presses can change the direction or cause him to float.
Drill Rush (Side + B) – Spins into opponents with his sword. The angle can be changed a bit.
Shuttle Loop (Up + B) – Flies into the air, strikes, then strikes again after a loop. Enemies hit by this move are launched upward.
Dimensional Cape (Down + B) – Vanishes, teleports in any direction, and then attacks when reappearing.
Darkness Illusion (Final Smash) – Meta Knight raises his sword, emitting a blast of electricity. If he hits an opponent, he multiplies himself to attack and launch the opponent. If no one is hit, the move won’t do anything.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths
The king of Brawl is back and still doing his thing: spinning and slicing away. Meta Knight is perfect for people who want to follow opponents off the stage and keep punishing them, as his recovery options and aerial attacks are top-notch. A crafty Meta Knight player can rack up percentage quick on their opponent, keeping them from making moves or regaining control of the match.
Weaknesses
On the flip side, if Meta Knight finds himself on the receiving end of a combo, things get rough. He’s a lightweight and falls pretty fast. His moves require a bit of careful precision, too. All of which means: Meta Knight is fine so long as he’s in the driver’s seat. Time and aim your attacks well and you can run the match. Just don’t let the reverse happen to you.
Outfits
Meta Knight’s outfits are pretty straightforward. The menacing ball of evil has multiple outfits on hand with a variety of color schemes. He even has a few that are more lighthearted and fun for when you really want to put on a show.
