Say, do you like Final Fantasy 14? Of course you do! It’s the best MMO on the market today. It also got an absolutely splendid new expansion this year in the form of Shadowbringers. But FF14 isn’t slowing down just yet. Nope! In addition to new raids and, well, savage modes of those raids, we’ve already had some free in-game events. The next such event in FF14 is The Rising 2019 — and it’s got all new cosmetic goodies for players to poach quick as a bunny. But what are these Rising items and how do you get them? Let’s take a look in our guide to The Rising 2019 in FF14.
The Rising 2019 Start & End Date – FF14 Event Guide
The Rising 2019 begins soon (or, hey, might already be underway by the time you’re reading this). The start date is Aug. 26, 2019 at 8 a.m. PDT. It lasts for exactly three weeks before it closes on another Monday. Specifically, The Rising 2019 also ends at 7:59 a.m. PDT on Sept. 17, 2019. That’s not a ton of time to farm your favored FF14 cosmetics! However, depending on what you care about getting, there aren’t all that many to worry about. Although one Rising item sticks out in particular above the rest…
The Rising 2019 Rewards – FF14 Event Guide
There are exactly seven new rewards to earn during The Rising 2019 in FF14. Although developer Square Enix also promises that “Certain items available during previous iterations of the event can be obtained via the Rising vendor.” The event has been running every year since 2014, one year after A Realm Reborn first launched, so there are plenty of previous goodies for the team to choose from, too. Let’s get to the new stuff, though, shall we?
The vast majority of The Rising 2019 items are cosmetic rewards for your apartment or estate housing in FF14. Specifically, they’re posters featuring pained FF14 concept art and the official promo images from patches during the Stormblood expansion — like “Prelude in Violet” and “A Requiem for Heroes.” That’s only exciting if you have some kind of house in FF14, of course, but still pretty neat. That art is delicious.
The last reward is a wind-up minion. And it’s a very, very good one at that. It’s called “Brave New Y’shtola,” and features the cat-eared fan favorite character in her Black Mage garb. Players will recognize this as the Shadowbringers version of Y’shtola. Although, in my humble opinion, there is no bad version of Y’shtola to have at your side. She’s dope!
The Rising 2019 Quests & FATEs – FF14 Event Guide
Here’s the stinger. We don’t really know what you need to do in order to collect these items for The Rising 2019. Square Enix didn’t offer any specifics, other than where to start the quest. Speaking of which, players at level 30 or above can do so by heading to La Noscea. There you’ll find an NPC named on the Bloodshore — at coordinates X36.8 and Y26.2. She’ll offer you the quest “Message in a Bottle,” which kicks off The Rising 2019 in earnest.
We’ll be sure to update this guide when we know what you specifically need to do in The Rising 2019! In the meantime, we can make some educated guesses. Last year’s FF14 event required players to complete special FATEs (public quests) for a kind of currency. It wouldn’t be surprising if this year follows suit. Although some seasonal FF14 events since have just awarded special Tomestones (the aforementioned event currency) for completing normal activities.
Or perhaps the name of the quest, along with the promo art featuring a literal message in a bottle, is a clue… We’ll just have to wait and see how things shake out!Until then, be sure to check back here at Fanbyte for more information about FF14 and upcoming updates. We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
