You’ve trudged through the darkness as the Warrior of Light. You’ve forged your Zodiac Relic Weapons, glorious monuments to not only your Job but also your enduring effort. Zodiac Zeta isn’t the end, however — every expansion has its own set of Relic Weapons and unique processes for obtaining those weapons.
This guide will cover the Anima Weapons, the second series of Relic Weapons introduced in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. The journey has several phases, each offering a new version of the weapon, ending at the Lux form. None of these weapons are best-in-slot anymore, so you’re purely doing this for your own satisfaction and the glam.
How to Unlock Your Anima Relic Weapon
This new adventure requires a quest in order to kick everything off. “An Unexpected Proposal” is available from Rowena in Idyllshire (X: 5.7, Y: 5.5). In order to access this quest, you need to have completed the Heavensward main scenario quest “Heavensward” and leveled the requisite Job up to Level 60. There is no version of this quest for Dancer, Gunbreaker, Sage, or Reaper because those jobs do not have Anima Relic Weapons.
Rowena will send you to Ardashir in Azys Lla (X: 7.4, Y: 11.5). Much like Hyrstmill during the Zodiac Relic Weapon quests, this will become your main port of call for most of this process. If you haven’t already, attune to the nearby Aetheryte.

What Happens If I Lose an Anima Relic Weapon?
If you accidentally destroy a relic weapon, you can pick up the base Zodiac iteration from any Calamity Salvager.
- Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 11.3, Y: 14.3)
- Old Gridania (X: 10.0, Y: 8.4)
- Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (X: 12.6, Y: 13.1)
If you lose the weapons from a later step in this process, you have to start back at the beginning. In the case of the Anima Relic Weapons, this means starting “Soul Without Life” and turning in the requisite number of Crystals. If you’ve unlocked the Hyperconductive Anima Relic Weapon or higher stages, you can purchase the Replicas from the Restoration Node in Azys Lla (X: 7.1, Y: 11.2).
What About Using Animated Relic Weapons For Glamour?
Here’s the thing: you cannot place a Relic Weapon in the Glamour Dresser. Instead, you need to acquire a replica of the weapon from the Restoration Node in Azys Lla (X: 7.1, Y: 11.2). The Node will sell you a replica of every single Anima Relic Weapon phase.
However, the Restoration Node will only appear for you after completing the quest “Finding Your Voice,” which awards you with a Hyperconductive Anima Relic Weapon. This is the fourth iteration of the Anima Relic Weapon, so you’ll have a bit of work to do to get here. Once that’s done, the Restoration Node will sell you the Replicas of all previous Anima Relic Weapon phases. These replicas can then be placed into your Glamour Dresser for glamour purposes.
