Lyney is a playable Pneuma-aligned Pyro character in Genshin Impact.
Skilled and eloquent, Lyney is Fontaine's Great Magician and Lynette's twin brother. After their parents' death and having been saved from an abusive noble by their "Father," Lyney has undertaken missions for the House of the Hearth and has said that he will eventually become the successor of "Father."
On-Field DPS
Lyney is an on-field Pyro DPS unit who deals a majority of his damage through Charged Shots and related abilities that deal Charged Attack DMG. His Ascension 4 Passive incentivizes the use of multiple Pyro teammates, especially in Mono Pyro teams.
Most of Lyney’s damage consists of his Charged Attacks and Grin-Malkin Hats, both of which scale with his Normal Attack Talent. As such, his Normal Attack Talent is the most recommended to level.
For talents you want to prioritize:
- Card Force Translocation (Normal Attack)
- Bewildering Lights (Elemental Skill)
- Wondrous Trick: Miracle Parade (Elemental Burst)
Lyney’s Skill and Burst Talents are interchangeable based on whether Lyney can expect to use his Burst every rotation or not.
Because 4pc Marechaussee Hunter is so strong, it’s recommended to farm it for Lyney. As the set’s Domain is reasonably resin-efficient, other options are generally not worthwhile.
If you choose not to use 4pc Marechaussee Hunter, 4pc Lavawalker or 2pc mixed sets are your next best option.
- Marechaussee Hunter (4-Piece)
- Vermillion Hereafter (4-Piece)
- Lavawalker (4-Piece)
- Crimson Witch of Flames (2-Piece) or Gladiator’s Finale (2-Piece) or Marechaussee Hunter (2-Piece)
For attributes you want:
- ATK% on Sands
- Pyro DMG Bonus% on Goblet
- CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG on Circlet
Sub stat priority is CRIT Rate > CRIT DMG > ATK% > Energy Recharge > HP%
Goblet can be ATK% if its substats are better than your Pyro DMG% options.
With 4pc Marechaussee Hunter, Lyney’s Circlet should be CRIT DMG since the 4pc set bonus already provides substantial CRIT Rate.
In terms of substats, Lyney should prioritize CRIT since his typical teams already benefit from Bennett’s Flat ATK buff. Energy Recharge should only be considered if Lyney uses his Burst every rotation.
As a main DPS, it is usual to go for CRIT stat & ATK to improve Lyney's damage output. Aside from the weapon's sub-stat, you also need to consider the weapon's effect if Lyney can fully take advantage of it.

- Skyward Harp (CRIT Rate %)
If you don't have the optimal weapons, these are solid options as well.

Good at C0, Even Better at C2
Lyney will be able to carry a team at C0 with his decent DMG scaling. If you managed to get his 2nd constellation, Lyney's overall DMG will significantly be increased as he can gain stacks of CRIT DMG!
