Every expansion offers at least three different types of Tribe Quests. For Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, the Pixie Tribe is one focused on your combat quests. Disciples of War and Magic are the only ones that need to apply. The Qitari, deep in the forests and swamps of Rak’tika Greatwood, have a different focus, however.
How to Unlock the Qitari Tribe Quests
Like most Tribe Quests, however, their questline requires you to first complete a series of combat missions scattered throughout several locations. Unlike some Tribe Quests, this doesn’t require you to have completed a specific main scenario quest. Instead, this Tribe’s unlock requires you to complete some sidequests first. These sidequests begin with “The Great Deceiver,” a Level 70 quest from Valan in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 19.8, Y: 27.6). This is one of the two Aether Current quests for the zone and you’ll need to finish both in order to unlock this Tribe.
The rest of the quests in this fork of the questline are:
- “Slither Along” (Level 70) from Quinfort in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 10.9, Y: 26.0)
- “Snake the Lead” (Level 70) from Valan in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 19.8, Y: 27.6)
- “Snakes in the Grass” (Level 70) from Quinfort in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 10.9, Y: 26.0)
The second questline begins from the other Aether Current quest in the region. That quest is “Stand on Ceremony” from Lanille in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 31.,3 Y: 16.9). Likewise, there are follow-up quests starting from this point.
- “Seeing Eye to Eye” (Level 70) from Lanille in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 31.,3 Y: 16.9)
- “Mending Fences” (Level 70) from Lanille in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 31.,3 Y: 16.9)
- “Hearts as One” (Level 70) from Ciuna in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 31.3, Y: 16.9)
Both questlines culminate in “Protectors of the Wood” from Phyna in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 30.7, Y: 20.2). Once you finish that last quest, then you can finally grab the actual first quest in the Qitari Tribe questline. That quest is “The Stewards of Note,” available via Concerned Mother in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 21.0, Y: 27.6).
What Choices Should You Make in The Qitari Tribe Quests?
The trick is that beginning with “The Stewards of Note,” all of the quests are not for combat classes/jobs. Instead, you need to have a Level 70 Disciple of the Land. The full list of quests is below and each becomes available at different Reputation levels. All of the quests are Level 70:
- “The Stewards of Note” from Concerned Mother in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 21.0, Y: 27.6): Starting Quest
- “Wisdom of the Night” from Chaqurl Qhotl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1): Available at Maximum Friendly Reputation
- “The First Stela: Of Ronkan Might” from Qitarl Natl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1)
- “The First Stela: Of Ronkan Benevolence” from Chaqurl Qhotl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1)
- “Delving Deeper” from Qitari Serpent in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1): Available at Maximum Trusted Reputation
- “The Second Stela: The Hunters and the Hunted” from Qitarl Natl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1)
- “The Second Stela: Fast Friends” from Chaqurl Qhotl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1)
- “A Chilling Fate” from Qitari Serpent in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1): Available at Maximum Respected Reputation
- “The Third Stela: A Famine for Fishmen” from Qitarl Natl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1)
- “The Third Stela: A Feast for Fishmen” from Chaqurl Qhotl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1)
- “What Ails the Forest” from Qitari Serpent in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1): Available at Maximum Honored Reputation
- “Glory Be to the Scree” from Chaqurl Qhotl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X: 37.5, Y: 17.1): Available at Maximum Sworn Reputation
If that seems like a lot, realize that some of those quests are actually branches. Each of the “Stela” quests allows you to choose how to interpret these ancient tablets. If you pick one direction, you head toward one quest and choosing the alternate path leads to the other. It honestly doesn’t matter which path you take. The rewards and ultimate destination are the same.
Just like most other Tribe Quests, you will receive three daily quests to complete every 24 hours. All of the quests remain in Rak’tika Greatwood and most require you to simply go to a place and gather a resource. Pick up all three dailies at once and you can knock them out in 10 minutes. You only get 12 to use per day across all the different tribes in FFXIV. Remember you can always check your total remaining number of Tribe Quest allowances from the Timers section on the Duty menu. You’ll find them near the bottom of the screen.
What Are The Best Qitari Tribe Rewards?
As you complete daily quests for the Qitari Tribe, you’ll earn experience, reputation, and a unique currency called Qitari Compliment. This currency can be turned into the tribe vendor, Yuqurl Manl in The Rak’tika Greatwood (X:37.3, Y:17.1). The vendor will have different offerings depending on your current Reputation with the Tribe. At the lower levels, all that’s available is Materia. This is a great place to pick up higher-level Gathering Materia.
The fun stuff comes later and most of it is of the cosmetic variety. These are the notable rewards, what type of reward they are, and which Reputation level they unlock at.
- The Behelmeted Serpent of Ronka – Minion (Trusted)
- The Behatted Serpent of Ronka – Minion (Honored)
- Great Vessel Of Ronka (Ronkan Flute) – Mount (Sworn)
- Hopl’s Dropple Orchestrion Roll Orchestrion Roll – Music (Bloodsworn)
There’s nothing here that’ll really help you make any noticeable gil, so you’re doing these dailies purely for the cosmetics. Truly, the miners and botanists among you have saved this forest.
