The Ishgardian Restoration might be one of the most complex pieces of crafting and gathering content in all of Final Fantasy XIV. With dozens of elements to it, from the Diadem, unique resources, fetes, etc., it can be pretty daunting.
One of these elements is the Kupo of Fortune, a seemingly simple scratch card game that can be used to win prizes. Because these prices include rare furnishings, minions, and even mounts, players it’s understandable that players want to get them. Getting most of the rewards is fairly easy, but will require some luck and patience.
How to play Kupo of Fortune in FFXIV
Kupo of Fortune is exclusively played by crafting high-level collectibles for The Ishgardian Restoration. By crafting the top two items in the Second Restoration Phase or the Ishgardian Restoration, you’ll earn Kupo Stamps. Collect Kupo five Kupo Stamps, and you can earn one Kupo of Fortune card.

Once you have a card, speak to Lizbeth in the Firmament (X: 12.2, Y: 14.6), who is conveniently located right next to the turn-in area for Ishgardian Restoration crafting items.
Each card has four hexagonal scratch-off points and five possible prizes. The prizes are random for each card. You can scratch off just one hexagon each time and will receive a prize from the corresponding symbol scratched off.

If you scratch off the far left hexagon, you’ll get either a Second, Third, or Fourth Prize, but have no chance to receive a First or Fifth Prize. If you scratch off one of the right hexagons, you have a lower chance of receiving any prize, but also have access to the First Prize. First Prizes include three glamour coffers, materia, a mount, and six minions.

Kupo of Fortune playing guides
In general, if you’re trying to obtain all the Kupo of Fortune goods, it’s best to hedge your bets with the Second to Fourth Prizes initially, at least until you have all the minions, emotes, and furnishings you want. Almost all of these items are also tradable, often for sizable sums of gil, so you can quickly earn a lot.
Once you’ve exhausted the middle options, you can shoot for First Prize. Unfortunately, this means you’ll likely end up stocking up on a lot of useless Magicked Prisms. One trick is to make sure you’ve already unlocked the Doman Restoration, and then donate the Magicked Prisms for more than the usual one gil they’re worth.
