With the drop of Patch 6.5, Final Fantasy XIV's Island Sanctuary has a wave of content for players to work their way through. Alongside a brand new area with never-before-seen nodes to harvest for materials, Island Durium Sand is mined from a rock Island Sanctuary dwellers are already familiar with.
In order to mine Island Durium Sand from the existing node, you'll need to get your hands on a new tool. The Islekeep's Mythril Pickaxe will allow you to mine a few resources from the newly added cave area. It'll also let you mine Durium Sand from Rough Black Rocks, which are dark rocks peppered with red gems.

To craft the new pickaxe, the materials you'll need are above.
- Island Resin is harvested from Tualong Trees on the south side of the river, along the river (X: 21, Y: 25).
- Island Mythril Ore is mined from Bluish Rocks around the Peak Point area (X: 31, Y: 28).
- Hawk's Eye Sand is mined from Island Crystal Clusters (X: 23, Y: 21).
- As for Iron Ore, you can get that from Rough Black Rocks (X: 26, Y: 20).
Rough Black Rocks are up on the mountain leading to the Sunrise Lookout, the same place you might go to catch a Coblyn. They've always been the source for Island Iron Ore, but with the new tool in your arsenal, you can mine Durium Sand from them. If you're unsure about the location, check below for the general area.

While new materials for harvest have been added to existing nodes in the past, it's not as easy to hunt this one down on your own since it isn't in the new area. Equipped with a new axe and knowledge of where to find the material, islanders should be able to find it pretty easily.
