FFXIV Moogle Treasure Trove First Hunt for Genesis Ends Next Week

The ship is sailing on those 50 Tomestones from Ocean Fishing!

On Jan. 30, Square Enix released the revamped and much improved Final Fantasy XIV Moogle Treasure Trove event, adding weekly, Minimog, and an Ultimog challenge to enhance the experience. Unfortunately, after six weeks, Part I of Moogle Treasure Trove - Hunt for Genesis is coming to an end.

Reminders that the event was coming to an end were posted on FFXIV’s official social media accounts on March 8, and probably came as a shock to many who were saving that Ultimog Challenge or Weekly Objective until later, thinking they had a bunch of time. Part I of the event will officially end on March 11, 7:59am (PDT).

Part one of the Moogle Treasure Trove event, called The First Hunt for Genesis, is live and players can grab up some nifty rewards for completing rotating and static objectives.

Over the past six weeks, there’s been some incredible opportunities to gather the Irregular Tomestone of Genesis I. These include the 50 Tomestones for scoring 8,000 during Ocean Fishing Voyages, 10 each for every Minimog Challenge you completed, and 20 for every Weekly Objective. Given there were some pretty steeply priced rewards in this edition of the Moogle Tomestone event, players could optimize their grind with these weekly rewards, supplementing the traditional Castrum Meridianum spamming.

This also looks like it's the last chance to get these rewards and earn the Irregular Tomestones of Genesis I. Given that the Second Hunt for the Genesis has its own tab in the Mogpendium, and the way the current Tomestones are labeled, expect that Part II will have a whole new set of Tomestones, and a different table of rewards.

Additionally, it’s currently unknown when the next part of the Moogle Treasure Trove event will kick off. It likely won’t be immediately after the conclusion of this one, although fingers crossed it’s soon. Meanwhile there’s a plethora of updates upcoming in FFXIV, even if fans aren’t too happy that two seasonal events are being squished together. And if you’re looking to grind those last few Tomestones, now’s the perfect time to check out an Ocean Fishing guide.
