FFXIV Goes All Out for its Halloween Event, Fully Decorating its 3 Major Cities

There's pumpkins galore for this year's All Saints' Wake

Final Fantasy XIV has embraced the Halloween Spirit this week as the game transforms its three starting areas for All Saints’ Wake. The Halloween-themed event started in the early hours of Oct. 27, decorating Limsa Lominsa, Ul’dah, and Gridania’s hubs with spooky baubles, including pumpkins, bats, black cats, ghosts, and others.

FFXIV’s special events usually transform a small area of these cities, with the city the event takes place in getting a little more love. This year it appears developers Square Enix have gone all out, as there are decorations in all areas, from the market stalls of Limsa Lominsa, to the Gold Court of Ul’dah, and even Nophica’s Altar in New Gridania filled with pumpkins.

What’s more, each of the cities has a slightly unique take on the decorations, with Ul’dah having purple accented pumpkins, Gridania green-eyed pumpkins, and Limsa Lominsa having red. Each city also seems to have decorations that can only be found in that area, giving players a reason to explore.

The pumpkins are quite literally everywhere, from pillars, to alcoves, the ceilings, the floors, and even stuck on the market boards. It’s the kind of full-bore, over-the-top decoration for Halloween that lovers of the spooky season aspire to.

All this is on top of the All Saints’ Wake event itself, which sees a pair of quests, and the ever-popular Sneaky Hollow, which allows players to transform (dress-up) as their favorite NPCs from the previous and current expansions. Japanese fans, and early rising EU players have already taken to Twitter/X to post their glamoured up Warriors of Light. Overall, fans are embracing the Halloween spirit with open arms.

All Saints’ Wake started Oct. 27 and continues until Nov. 13, 7:59pm PST.
