In FFXIV, an Island Prism is a type of glamour consumable used to change the appearance of certain buildings on a player’s Island Sanctuary. It must be crafted by any Disciple of the Hand class (Carpenter, Blacksmith, Armorer, Goldsmith, Leatherworker, Weaver, Alchemist, and/or Culinarian).
The recipe changes slightly depending on the chosen crafting class. However, players will always need two Clear Prisms, three Fire Clusters, and three Earth Clusters. Since Island Prisms are a type of Master Recipe item, players must also have the corresponding Level 9 Master Recipe book unlocked on their player character (e.g. Master Blacksmith IX to craft it as a Blacksmith).
You can purchase Master Recipe books in exchange for low-tier crafters’ scrips at any Scrip Exchange NPC. Such as the one in the Studium at Old Sharlayan or the one found in Hawker’s Alley in Limsa Lominsa.
To use an Island Prism, select any Island Sanctuary building that can be glamoured via its logboard at the front of the structure. Buildings that can be altered will have an option to “change appearance.” At this point, you can select from your available options and consume one Island Prism to apply the change.
