When people think of Final Fantasy XIV's minions, there's a good chance they'll picture some variety of cute critter running after the Warrior of Light. At the very least, it's unlikely that they'll think of a campfire. But it may come as a surprise that there is, in fact, a campfire minion you can summon to your side.
While there's no hot and cold mechanic requiring players to keep their Warriors of Light warm, there's no denying the aesthetic appeal of a campfire. Not only that, but it has utility for purposes such as roleplay and player-organized events. Without further ado, here's how to get the Wanderer's Campfire minion.

The easiest way to get the Wanderer's Campfire
While not the cheapest, the easiest way to get it is off of the market board. It's a commonly sought-after minion, so even if you can't find a seller on your home World, you'll probably be able to find one somewhere on your Data Center. At the time of writing, the minions are selling for around 5,000 to 10,000 gil on the Aether Data Center; a little more than pocket change, but nothing you can't quickly earn back.
How to craft the Wanderer's Campfire
If you'd rather go the crafting route, you'll need to be an Alchemist of at least level 80. That, or find a friend who's bothered to level their crafting classes and doesn't mind doing it for you. The materials needed are four Grenade Ash, six Sandteak Logs, four Volcanic Tuff, seven Water Crystals, and seven Lightning Crystals. All of these items are gatherable, so it shouldn't be too expensive to craft your own campfire.
Wanderer's Campfire uses

While the campfire can be useful for all sorts of scene-setting (if you've ever wanted to throw a cute bonfire in-game, this is your minion), there are other uses for the minion as well. After the death of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, players all over Eorzea could be seen holding their own vigils for the beloved manga artist with campfires lit in tribute. Much like one might light a candle in remembrance of someone, putting out your campfire can be one small way of honoring someone's life in-game.
