In Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, a new series of raids saw the Warrior of Light take on the strange and alien machine, Omega, in a battle to determine who the universe’s strongest was. As part of this series of trials, players were rewarded with a series of mounts for completing the Savage variant, the most complex version of these Omega trials.
If you're looking to add this series of mounts to your collection, here’s how to unlock all three of them; Model O, Alte Roite, and Air Force, in FFXIV.
Unlocking the Omega Raids in FFXIV
The first step before you can do anything else is unlocking and defeating the standard Omega raids. You unlock the Savage variants after completing their normal versions, but completing all of them is recommended to get a general idea of the mechanics in the raid series.
How to unlock the Alte Roite mount

The Alte Roite is the first mount you can unlock from the Omega Savage raids. This specific mount is unlocked from Deltascape V4.0 (Savage), also known as O4S. The raid sees you take on Exdeath. The mount is obtained by receiving the Alte Roite Prism item. This is a “basic” drop from the raid, and unlike many other extreme mounts, can’t be farmed using tomes or other currency. However, the fact it’s a basic drop may mean it’s easier to farm. The best way to do this is by getting together an unsynced level 90 Party Finder group.
How to Unlock the Air Force mount
To unlock the next mount, the unwittingly hilarious Air Force, you’ll need to complete Sigmascape V4.0 (Savage), defeat Kefka, and receive the Air Force Identification Key. Just like the Alte Route Prism, this key is basic drop, and can’t be farmed with datalogs, tomes, or any other drop. As a result, it drops more frequently from the raid. Again, the best way of unlocking this mount is to getting together an unsynced level 90 Party Finder group. Kefka can be a nasty fight, though, with a lot of knockbacks and dangerous mechanics, so even a level 90 party may struggle.
How to Unlock the Model O mount
The final and most difficult mount to obtain from the Omega Savage raids is the Model O. Difficulty is high because it requires you to take on Omega itself in one of the most challenging fights of the entire Stormblood expansion, Alphascape V4.0 (Savage). If you best Omega and complete the fight, your reward has the potential to be the Model O Identification Key. Again, this mount has a basic drop rate and can’t be farmed using other methods. As a result, it’s recommended yet again to use an unsynced level 90 Party Finder group.
Soloing Omega Savage?
It is technically possible to solo many of the fights of Omega Savage, including some of the ones above. At the time of writing, Deltascape V4.0 (Savage) and Sigmascape V4.0 (Savage) can be soloed by a level 90 tank with an average item level of at least 615. Make sure your weapon is over 615, as some of the DPS checks are very tight. Otherwise, just remember the mechanics, and solo your way to some great mounts.
