How to Farm MGP in FFXIV

You can choose your own adventure, pretty much.

Final Fantasy XIV's Manderville Gold Saucer is home to all sorts of games for players to pass the time with, and much like any other in-game casino, it deals in its very own currency. Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP) are exclusive to the casino-like area, and there are plenty of highly sought-after items that can only be purchased with it.

Many players find themselves wanting to farm MGP as quickly as possible. To start, there's a highly useful item you can use to increase your MGP payout from any activities in the Gold Saucer by 15 percent.

Gold Saucer VIP Cards are obtained by completing the Squadron Missions "Black Market Crackdown" and "Counter-magitek Exercises". You'll have access to these missions once you've gotten your Squadrons to levels 40 and 50, respectively. After using one of the cards, you'll have the buff for two hours. To get the most out of them, it's a good idea to use them when you're planning on grinding MGP for the full duration.

Fashion Report

Doing practically anything in the Gold Saucer will reward you with MGP, but some activities are more rewarding than others. Perhaps the lowest-effort option is participating in the Fashion Report. Simply participating will earn you 10,000 MGP, while getting a score of 80 or more will get you an extra 50,000 on top of that. To ensure that you're getting the best score you can, check out our weekly Fashion Report guide.

Mini and Jumbo Cactpot

The Mini Cactpot and Jumbo Cactpot also take very little effort. The Mini Cactpot is available daily, while the Jumbo Cactpot runs weekly. Getting the best result on any one of your three Mini Cactpot cards will earn you 10,000 MGP, and the chances of getting it aren't that low. While it's extremely rare to get a perfect result from the Jumbo Cactpot, even a complete loss will earn you a profit, so long as you remember to check the results at the end of the week.

Challenge Log

It's also a good idea to go through your weekly Challenge Log for the Gold Saucer. You'll have to do a little bit of everything if you want 95,000 MGP every week, or you can pick and choose the activities you like for a smaller reward. Chocobo Racing, Triple Triad, Lord of Verminion, Doman Mahjong, and GATEs are all featured as available challenges. There's even a challenge that requires players to complete three mini-games (Monster Toss, Crystal Tower Striker, etc.), which they may not bother touching otherwise.

GATEs

Gold Saucer Active Time Events, known more commonly as GATEs, are mini-games that are available every 20 minutes in the Gold Saucer. Their level of difficulty varies, as does their MGP payout. Here's each GATE, and how much MGP you can earn if you fully complete them:

GATEMGP Payout
Leap of Faith2,000 MGP
Cliffhanger3,000 MGP
Air Force One4,000 MGP
The Slice is Right6,000 MGP
Any Way the Wind Blows7,500 MGP

Note that some of these can have higher rewards, depending on whether you complete extra objectives or not. With "Leap of Faith", you can obtain more MGP depending on how many of the cactuar trophies you collect before leaving. With "The Slice is Right", you can earn double the MGP by successfully taking gold from the piles twice. "Air Force One" will only get you 4,000 MGP if you hit every single target and none of the bombs, and so on.

Seasonal Events

If you're catching this guide while the FFXIV x Fall Guys collaboration is going, that option is also open to you. You don't need to place first to get a good amount of MGP each round; in fact, surviving even one round can easily earn you around 700-800 MGP. Succeeding in all three rounds will get you closer to 3,000. If you're looking to get your hands on the event's exclusive items, you might just find yourself with a large sum of MGP alongside the Manderville Gold Saucer Fame (MGF) you need to purchase Fall Guys gear, furniture, and more. If the event isn't active, no need to worry; there are plans to bring Blunderville back in the future, so you'll have another chance to farm MGP this way.

Another seasonal event that can impact your MGP farming is the Make It Rain Campaign, which is available once a year. In recent years, it's been available sometime during the summer, with the last one starting at the end of June. Along with exclusive seasonal items for players to collect, the Make It Rain Campaign offers a 50 percent increase to all MGP earned during the event. It's a perfect time to farm, and a perfect time to use up your Gold Saucer VIP Cards if you have them, since the 15 percent increase does stack.

Each player has their preferred games in the Gold Saucer, and each one has the potential to earn you a good amount of MGP if you go about it the right way. Triple Triad and Lord of Verminion both offer tournaments every month, and even ranking low can get you a handsome prize. And, of course, all of the Gold Saucer's various pastimes have their own special rewards you can unlock for yourself such as titles, Triple Triad cards, minions, and more.
