In FFXIV, the Pearl of Winds is a rare crafting material potentially dropped after completing Storm’s Crown (Extreme) or after desynthesizing Windswept weapons (also dropped by the Extreme version of the Storm’s Crown Trial).
Players need one Pearl of Winds to craft both the Storm’s Crown Sword Stand furniture item and the Windswept Barding cosmetic for your Chocobo companion. Both items are Level 90 Master Recipes and Level 90 Specialist Recipes.
This means two things. First, players must use a copy of Master Blacksmith X (to craft the sword stand) and/or Master Leatherworker X (to craft the barding) to access the recipes in their Crafting Log. These are found under the Master Recipes (10) tab of both smithing and leatherworking recipes, respectively.
Crafters must also unlock the Specialist system by completing the quest “Beloved of the Builder.” This is a crafting quest given out by Lydirlona in Mor Dhona (X: 22.3, Y: 6.8) starting at Level 55. Players must then have a matching Soul of the Crafter equipped to the correct class (Blacksmith in the case of the furniture and Leatherworker in the case of the barding). This turns that crafting class into a “Specialist,” with enhanced stats and new actions, while also allowing them to initiate Specialist Recipes.
You can only have Souls of the Crafter equipped to three different crafting classes at one time. Speak to the NPC Alderan in Ishgard, The Pillars (X: 14.6, Y: 10.7) to receive new souls for each crafting class.
