How to Change Appearance in Dragon's Dogma 2

If you're wondering how to change your appearance in Dragon's Dogma 2, here's what you need to know.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is downright massive, featuring a map that's almost four times the size of Capcom's original fantasy RPG's own. The stunning sequel plays host to everything from ruinous deserts to verdant woodlands, harboring a diverse cast of intriguing characters and various formidable monsters to boot. When you pick up a game like this one, you just know you can sink a hundred hours or more into its immense world. What better way to truly immerse yourself then than to create a character you connect with?

Whether you're fashioning your Arisen after yourself or are roleplaying as an entirely different original character you've crafted, appearance is important in a game like Dragon's Dogma 2. Due to this sheer significance and how often you see your character while playing, you may find yourself wondering if and how you can change your appearance in Dragon's Dogma 2. Thankfully, you can indeed do so.

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as it may sound. There are various ways to alter different parts of your appearance, and only one way to fully change your appearance in Dragon's Dogma 2. If you're looking to learn how you can alter the way that you look, whether it be your full appearance or just your hairstyle, we've got you covered below with a full rundown of each process.

How to Change Your Appearance in Dragon's Dogma 2

There are a few different aspects of your appearance that you can change after you've initially created your Arisen at the beginning of Dragon's Dogma 2. You can opt to change just your hairstyle, your makeup, or the markings and tattoos you've applied to your character in exchange for a hefty amount of gold. Alternatively, you can also change your appearance in full including your height, weight, and everything in between. Here's how.

Change Your Hairstyle, Makeup, and Markings in Dragon's Dogma 2

If you only wish to change something simple such as your hairstyle or the makeup you chose at the start of the game, all you need to do is locate a stylist in a major city such as Vernworth. Their workplace will show up on your local map as a white symbol that resembles a pair of scissors. Once inside the marked building, talk to the stylist or vendor and you'll be able to select which part of your appearance you want to change.

You can spend 10,000 gold to change your hairstyle, 10,000 gold to change your makeup, 10,000 gold to change your markings, or a whopping 25,000 gold to change more than one of the aforementioned features. Once you pay, you'll be transported to a character creation menu where you can also alter the lighting and background to suit your tastes so that you can see how all of the available options look. Unfortunately, these stylists do not offer new hairdos, makeup, or markings, but rather those you saw while making your character.

Change Your Appearance in Dragon's Dogma 2

If you want to fully change your appearance in Dragon's Dogma 2, you're going to have to spend some Rift Crystals instead of gold. Head over to the local Pawn Guild vendor in whichever city you're nearest to and explore the seller's wares. There you'll find the Art of Metamorphosis book which sells for 500 Rift Crystals. With this book, you can edit either your own appearance as you would at the start of the game or your main Pawn's.

If you don't have enough Rift Crystals, you can purchase them as DLC from Capcom on platforms such as Steam or opt to buy the Art of Metamorphosis book directly as DLC. However, we'd recommend playing the game a bit more before doing so as Rift Crystals are incredibly easy to come by and are only used in limited, mostly unnecessary situations such as obtaining higher-level Pawns.
