A month into the World of Wonders season, Pokemon GO players have already been whisked into the mysteries surrounding the Ultra Beast Poipole, braved the jungles in order to locate and capture the Mythical Pokemon Zarude, and so much more—and this season is just getting started.
For the month of April, players will be fully enveloped in all that Spring has to offer. From tricks of various sizes to start the month to an infestation of Bug Type Pokemon and a celebration of sustainability, the mobile title will continue to reward players with new Pokemon spawns and bonuses to keep them coming back. Players may even have the opportunity to dive further into the ongoing story featuring Poipole, likely bringing them closer to discovering even more secrets about the Ultra Beasts.
These are all of the events players can look forward to in April 2024, as well as changes to Raids, Raid Hours, and Spotlight Hours that will only be available this month.

All Events in Pokemon GO - April 2024
April starts, of course, with a round of fun and games celebrating April Fools Day in the form of the Sizeable Surprises event, taking place from April 4 to April 9. During the event duration, players will notice an abundance of Pokemon of different sizes, ranging from the tiny Joltik to the large Onix, in the wild, with even more additions in Raids. Notably, this event marks the return of Ultra Beasts in five-star Raids, which may indicate further otherworldly activity during the remainder of the month.
The next Community Day Classic, which will occur on April 7, features the Rock Head Pokemon Bagon. As with other Community Days, Bagon will appear aplenty for a period of three hours and offer players additional bonuses for catching it—on top of an increased Shiny rate. For players looking to get their hands on the powerful Pokemon Salamence, particularly with the exclusive move Outrage, be sure to head outside and activate an Incense during this time.
Flowers blooming with the coming of Spring also means bugs are back to work, including in Pokemon GO. The Bug Out event, which returns from previous years and is likely to introduce a new Bug Type Pokemon to the game, will take place from April 12 to April 17 and also feature the debut of Mega Heracross during its Raid Day on April 13.
This will be followed by April's Community Day on April 20, of which the highlighted Pokemon has not yet been revealed. Then, from April 22 to April 26, Pokemon GO will once again be celebrating keeping the planet clean with Sustainability Week, focusing heavily on Pokemon that help the ecosystem thrive.
April will end with a Hatch Day on April 28. This one-day event, which also returns from previous years, gives a specific Pokemon an increased appearance rate in 2km Eggs with bonuses that have included increased Shiny rates, double Candy for hatching Eggs, and more.

Pokemon GO Raids, Raid Hours, and Spotlight Hours - April 2024
Depending on your location in the world, a different Ultra Beast is set to invade as the month begins. From April 4 to April 12, players in the Northern Hemisphere will notice Kartana appearing out of Ultra Wormholes at five-star Raids, while Celesteela lands in the Southern Hemisphere.
The next of the Alolan Island Guardians, Tapu Bulu, makes its way into five-star Raids from April 12 to April 25, alongside its signature move Nature's Madness—which, for now, is exclusive to this appearance. It will be followed by the last of the original Regi trio, Registeel, from April 25 to May 2, with both of these Legendary Pokemon having the ability to be Shiny.
Meanwhile, an array of Mega Evolutions—including the addition of Mega Heracross—are headlining Mega Raids throughout April. The rotation will begin with the return of the popular Fire and Dragon Type Mega Charizard X from April 4 to April 13, followed by Mega Heracross' Pokemon GO debut from April 13 to April 25, and ending with the pure-Steel Type Mega Aggron from April 25 to May 2. Defeating these powered-up Pokemon will reward players with the corresponding Mega Energy required to Mega Evolve these Pokemon for themselves. The more that players Mega Evolve their Pokemon, the less Mega Energy will be required to do so.

Players shouldn't worry too much about whether or not they can get their hands on these Legendary Pokemon and Ultra Beasts in time, as April's Raid Hours—held every Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm local time—will feature each of them on a rotation, appearing at every Gym multiple times in that duration. These will begin with Tapu Lele on April 3, followed by Kartana or Celesteela (depending on the player's location) on April 10, and Tapu Bulu on both April 17 and April 24.
Shadow Raikou will be heading back into the darkness in favor of Shadow Entei, who will star in five-star Shadow Raids on weekends in April. As with all Shadow Raids, players can only enter these battles using regular or Premium Raid Passes, as the Remote Raid feature is completely excluded from participation. Players should enter Shadow Raids with Purified Gems that can be used to weaken the boss Pokemon, which were easily farmed during Team GO Rocket's increased appearance during March's World of Wonders: Taken Over event.
Other than Raids, players can also look forward to the return of Spotlight Hours that, for the month of April, are infesting the world with bugs, pests, and trash. These special events are held every Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm local time and each feature one or more Pokemon alongside a helpful bonus that will only be active for that hour. The first will be Zubat on April 2 with double transfer Candy as the bonus, then Croagunk with double Evolution XP on April 9. To coincide with this month's events, April 15's Spotlight Hour brings increased spawns of Caterpie, Weedle, and Wurmple with double catch Stardust, and Trubbish will bring double catch Experience on April 23. The month will conclude with a serenade of the moon by Clefairy with double catch Candy on April 30.
